I think the set up at newcastle is meant to work

    1) Owner plays game of drunk poker with out of work ex-footballer
    2) Owner loses poker game and gives out of work ex-footballer DoF job at club as reward
    3) Director of Football comes in
    4) Manager resigns, thereby saving Owner having to pay off the 7 year contract he had given the manager whilst drunk/losing at poker game with manager
    5) DoF becomes manager
    6) DoF has heart attack, thereby saving Owner having to pay off DoF
    7) Paul Gascoigne becomes temporary manager after beating Owner at game of poker
    8) Relegation
    9) Owner pockets parachute payment and heads off for a round of Poker with Harry Redknapp
    10) GOTO 1
    Fixed.
    A few steps were missing?

Looking at a few other team's fixtures and United have by far the toughest start of the top clubs. Definitely a baptism of fire for Moyes.

Also what about this for a tough run in for West Ham:

    Mar 22: Manchester United (h)
    Mar 29: Sunderland (a)
    Apr 5: Liverpool (h)
    Apr 12: Arsenal (a)
    Apr 19: Crystal Palace (h)
Apr 26: West Bromwich Albion (a)
    May 3: Tottenham Hotspur (h)
    May 11: Manchester City (a)

Kinnear has come in and immediately ended our very long term pursuit of Twente's Douglas.

We and a bunch of other clubs waited till now because he became out of contract at the end of the 12-13 season. He sounds spot on, just what we need and his representatives were coming over to talk.

Can't wait to see who he thinks is a better option.

ITKs reckon Graham Carr will walk.
I would question which side ended this pursuit first.
I honestly don't think any decent player would sign for NU at this point: why would you gamble your career on an unstable club that will probably change manager at least twice in the next 10 months (Pards & Carr will walk; JFK won't survive in the manager's post for more than a couple of months).
Which leaves us with the usual waifs and strays of the Premiership, nearing the end of their careers and not minding what happens as long as there is a regular paycheck (aka, Bent). This is going to be a fun season

I was very confused, as I saw a Tweet from a Portuguese journo that he'd signed for Gil Vicente. Then I realised it was this Paulinho:

I hate the phrase "Football People" used in the context of qualifying somebodys opinion.

It always makes me laugh when supposedly journeymen players who are making a living as pundits indicate that playing the game gives them profound insight into Lionel Messis talent that the general public have no clue about.
Said it before as it's a bugbear of mine, but Steve Claridge is the worst for this. Instead of "you know" he ends every sentence with "but you haven't played the game", Christ.

wasn't he involved in housing and the crash wiped him out. I have the feeling it might have been charity related.

    You can ask any question.

But he won't really answer any of them apparently.

I remember when Trundle signed for Bristol City. My old boss was a fan, and you'd have thought they'd signed Maradona.

    He was shit.

Dembele, Paulinho and Sandro is some serious muscle in the middle. Pace, power and skill. I like.

Season of cameo roles and cup matches for Scotty Parker then, or is he moving elsewhere?

Pre season hasn't started. Most clubs haven't signed a single new player yet. How does the Mirror choose to fill some space and generate some clicks? Season predictions for 2013/14

    Oh dear.

There's a certain self-fulfilling irony in your post there. "click on this blatant click-bait"

I wouldn't be surprised to see him move. I'd happily keep him as a squad option but he could probably do better.

If QPR had stayed up he'd be nailed on for there.
