    Not really, he's sacked.

    Islamifying the Club.

That or Hoddle is making a return.

So Mourinho to dick nose Chelsea and move into the house next to Ferguson?

That'd be nice. It'd suit him better. Loads of money and no one telling him what to do.

Well, apart from Soriano and Bergiristain.

Everton and Man City to fight over the creme de la creme of Europe's top managers.

I guess it's true what they say about second place being the first loser -- at least as far as City is concerned, anyway.

Did Platt get the sack as well? I'm looking forward to the episode of Jeremy Kyle in a few years when they remove him from his house with a crane.

Fergie sees off one final rival for old times' sake. Bit harsh considering he finally brought City another league title and won an FA Cup, but his Champions League record was laughable and he's largely failed to get a half-billion quid squad to establish the kind of consistency you'd expect.

Any manager that had a few hundred million quids worth of players and still chooses Barry should have been sacked long ago.

It's a fair decision, really. The people (not aimed at anyone on here) saying "But he came second!" are being a bit simplistic. It was a dreadful title defence, and the reality is that only Vidic and RvP would get in City's first XI. The league title was an absolute procession for United.

Add to that a grand total of ONE POINT in their CL group and losing to Wigan in the cup final, and it's not a great picture. I doubt he had it in him to turn it around next season, and the way he was attacking everyone (even the poor old press officer in his final press conference) was the sign of someone who had lost it.

Yeah, Mancini sacking isn't really an Abramovich esque knee jerk, I just think he clearly wasn't the right man to take City forward.

Getting really worried about tomorrow night now. I've never hated Stoke more than I do now for not taking points off Spurs.

Once the dressing room is lost, it's all over. It's easier and cheaper to get rid of the manager than five or six extremely well paid, contracted players. Even Mourinho has found that at Madrid. He would have been sacked if he hadn't made it so clear he was going anyway I reckon.

Sounds like he won't be the last either. ITKlol that they're going to cull loads.

Yeah, it's basically just a matter of perspective. That's why it's funny. As a Norwich fan, I'm just pleased we're mathematically safe. I'd kill for second. But Norwich also isn't throwing around the kind of coin that Man City is.

    I just find it humorous.

Someone on my twitter feed made the point that Mancini will get a fair bit of compensation, which will affect City's FFP position.

I think his reign can pretty much be summed up with his tactical genius on Saturday.

    Tevez off
    Rodwell on

    Mastermind.

We may all be in the same league, but we are not all fighting for the top. Some are just playing to stay in it from day one. So expectations vary hugely. People seem to forget that when judging other teams from their own perspective.

A trophyless season and such a disastrous CL is totally unacceptable for City.

    28m compensation apparently.

City have regressed from last season so the sacking is fair enough. A bit silly doing it today, the anniversary of their title win last season. They could have waited until tomorrow.

I'm assuming that was the ol' sub so Yaya can move forward. Often works, in fairness.

Higuain has the 4th highest conversion rate in all of Europe, right after some French dude, messi and Falcao?

Gervinho has the highest conversion rate, surely. He's booted a lot of his shots over the bar this ye...oh. Oh. Sorry, wrong conversion.
