You mean like winning something every year, including the league last season against a team that was widely considered 'the best in the world'?

    Yeah, he sucks.
No, I mean storming of in a huff after a couple of years, leaving a swathe of burned bridges behind him and a divided team that might take years to heal. See also: Chelsea.

Don;t really think you can argue that his time at Real hasn't fallen way short of what it was supposed to be. Not just on the pitch, but off it as well.

But that shouldn't detract from his other successes. It'll be interesting because wherever he goes next he'll be going from the biggest "failure" of his career to date.

He can be considered failure at Real Madrid, though - 1 league title and no CL in three seasons is a pretty poor return for a club of that stature. Plus the team's implosion this season was largely down to him.
Pretty sure he won 3-4 cups for them.
Not winning the CL would be a huge deal if it wasn't for the fact they've been an abject failure for a decade or so.

He was brought in for two reasons; wrestle away the near dominant power of Barca, where it seemed like they would dominate the league for years to come, and to win the CL.

He basically achieved 50 percent of his target.

I wonder if he'll do so much 'damage' that Real fans will be pining for him back in 6 years time as well.

Uh, so he ended Barca's dominance by beating them to the title by 9 points, but now he's behind them by 8.

Wouldn't say he has ended Barca's dominance at all. It's like saying Man City shattered Man United last year.

;p. I'd be suprised if went tbh as he's got full control over the running of the club and should have a few quid to spend over the summer. Everton is a massive step up which might also be a little to early for him.

I seem to remember Madrid being a bit of a joke before Mourinho went there. Whatever he failed at there, he certainly went a long way toward restoring their reputation.

From what I have read they are rather fond of the hoof up to the big man.

Speaking of promoted sides, who is going to be in the prem thread after promotion? Just wondering which forumites support Cardiff and do we have any Hull supporters on the forum?

You are a factory of sadness.

    @bitch_tits_zero_nine

Very direct, hard working and just grind teams down. We're vwey similar to Norwich, but the style of play is nothing to shout about.

If Gestede plays then yes but 9 times of 10 we do play on floor and use our wide players a lot.

Yes, i'm one of two City fans here. No Hull fans though (no one ever posted on the Football League thread).

Eh? In the season before he took over they finished 3 points behind Barcelona. They've been either 1st or second since 2005 =/

Edit: Although their Presidents have often been lunatics

It'll be interesting to see how that adapts to the premiership where a lot of the game seems to be dictated by midfield as opposed to strong wing play.

I can imagine you'll struggle to get season tickets for next season!

Hang on, the Cardiff manager's forename is Malky? What's that short for? Malcolm? Is he five years old?

Defo. We do have Whittingham and Kim Bo who should do pretty well in the BPL as they'll have much more time on the ball when compared with the aggressiveness of the Cahmpionship.

Been a season ticket holder for years, so i'm all sorted. :D

It's going to be tough not to instantly associate Hull with Phil Far Too Brown next season.

It makes me laugh how managers and pundits all seem to have been psychologically conditioned to say 'barclayspremierleague' in interviews.

Well that's just La Liga. They were way off the boil in Europe, and were being routinely humped in El Classico.

I have no stats for this, it just seemed that way.
