@caligari In that case, I shall look forward to seeing you next year ...

    ... : )

I honestly think you are going to stay up anyway ... boo-hoo.

@caligari If they can beat WBA they should be safe but odd how they just seem to have lost all form in the last few months. They looked very safe for a while.

@Baihu1983 - Yes, our tactics have been far too negative.

As for scoring goals: Holt completely went off the boil after the contract issues earlier in the season. I think we would have been safe with a half-decent striker - Jackson is Championship quality at best, and Becchio hasn't really been given a proper chance. We'd have already been down if it wasn't for our defenders scoring so many!

We've signed Van Wolfswinkel who will join at the end of the season - I still can't see how that one will go through if we're in the Championship, though. Perhaps this larger parachute payment will fund his wages for a season?

Oh well - I can't be too negative. Haughton did wonders for Newcastle when they went down, so hopefully they'll stick with him.

Thought there was a clause whereby if you did get relegated, he wouldn't sign. Still think you'll stay up and it'll be Sunderland who go down.

It is mathematically possible for any one of the bottom eleven to go down with QPR and Reading; someone could be relegated with 40+ points. I can see Wigan beating Swansea and Aston Villa and drawing with Arsenal; making 42 the minimum required points to guarantee Premier League survival.

If Wigan lose to Man City in the FA Cup Final; it could be difficult for the players to pick themselves up for the game on Tuesday against Arsenal, The only hope for Newcastle to stay up is if Wigan lose their last 3 games.

You mean Newcastle AND Norwich and SUnderland (if they lose tomorrow), right?

Villa and Fulham certainly aren't safe.

Yep it's possible at the moment for Wigan to be relegated with 42 points.

It would take some choice results, but it could happen.

QPR haven't scored for 6 hours or something. You just know they will be scoring within 10 minutes against our lot.

I want Norwich to stay up. Always liked them, even more so with Houghton in charge. I wouldn't want Sunderland to go down either, but I suspect it's us or them.

There will be a lot of weeping, wailing and general gnashing of teeth at half a dozen clubs in the next two weeks, then Wigan will go down.

If Wigan fail to beat Swansea, I reckon they'll be the ones.

    @Syrette

Yeah the game on Tuesday is absolutely huge. I'd be confident about Wigan staying up but Beausejour got injured yesterday. With Alcaraz and Figueroa already out that's a massive blow.

I remember quite a few of us last season pointed out that Tiote was pretty crap, but he was hailed as one of the best DMs in the league by some fans here (I think this was one there were frivolous links of him to Arsenal).

He's never been good. A lot of us just deemed him an older version of Frimpong.

Wouldn't mind having a bit of Collocini is Newcastle went down. Best player at the club.

I wish someone would deck Fellaini.. He's always swinging his elbows into the head of the opponents.

    - still hope Everton win though..

That was a poor first half.

... someone score a goal straight away in the second half please!

Reina fell over from the slightest of touches..

I do hate how they crowd and block the keeper though (in any game, not just this one).

Yeah it's not clear at all why the goal was disallowed. Loads if semi fouls but no single glaring one. Really wish refs would be more consistent on it.

Fellini could've been sent off for three separate elbows today.

Got a bad feeling about the Chelsea match. Hope ManUnited show up today, and put in a fight.

    Rubbish game.

How Fellaini doesn't get sent off every single match for elbowing people in the face I'll never know.

Yes. He threw 2-3 elbows in a single duel with Agger alone..
