Don't agree, he like Jones, looked like the only ones who did give a shit today.

We're poor on the wings at the moment; Young is not Man Utd standard, Valencia is coming off the back of a truely stinking season and Zaha is untested at this level.

Unless we get a big fee, selling him would be pointless. It's a bit saddening that he's become an easy target for United fans.
He isn't an easy target. He isn't consistent and has had plenty of chances. He will be sold and not many fans would care. His contract is up soon so get rid.

Just like Anderson. Both need to go. Time to move on from them both. Kagawa should have played out there today.
If we're talking about consistency, then all our wingers need to go.

Fact remains, on form, Nani is better than any option we have on the wing.

And Kagawa is wasted out wide, he clearly isn't a natural winger.

    Hated, adored, never ignored.

What if he's just been the least dodgiest of all the keepers?

Judged by the same people who say Bale is up there with Ronaldo and Messi.

I think Cech, Jaaskelianan, Hart and Guzan have all had good seasons. Hart has had a few clangers but has been pretty consistent for the most part. Guzan has been immense and if it wasn't for our appalling defence he would have been one of the best in the league by far. He commands his area exceptionally well and has been vital to us not already being relegated.

Cech is such an underrated keeper too, he pulls off some tremendous save and imo is the primary reason they won the CL last season. So, all that suggests to me that De Gea is there by merit.

The one player I wouldn't include in that is Hazard. I think he has had quite a few decent games and looks a very good player but over the course of the season he has been more than eclipsed by someone like Michu. Otherwise it seems like a quite reasonable list.

You are a factory of sadness.

Think Ferdinand is lucky to be in there, given he's only played just over half the PL season. Can't think of many alternative CBs though - a lot of people saying Jagielka but I've seen enough to suggest not, and others saying Nastasić should have been there but I've not seen enough of him.

Nastasic has had a season like Rafael; mostly brilliant, but a few mad games. Ferdinand has been brilliant when he's played, mind.

Of course he is but so is Silva at City but good players find space as he has been doing recently

And yes if could afford it then sell all wingers but never going to happen.

Easy to look good with those Hollywood saves against a lacklustre opposition.

Heh, well at this stage he looks way more likely to become exactly the keeper most united fans believed he would. You all can keep observing any future errors in micro detail, we'll be happy watching him continue to develop.

    :-)

Called it that Bale would win. Not exactly a tough shout, but the voting was right in the middle of his best form of the season, right at the end of the streak where he scored the winning goal in 5 games in a row or whatever. No complaints though, he's a worthy winner.

Doesn't *have* to mean what that implies, but tbh I'm resigned to the squad being decimated regardless of what happens this season.

Quite comfortable with it in fact, as long as the replacements are worthy ones. Certain big names haven't performed recently, Coloccini was always going to to leave, and there are a lot of poor/unused players who need to be shifted (Simpson, Amalfitano, Harper, Gosling, Obertan etc, and hopefully Jonas too who is past it at 29).

Want Tiote out whatever happens, he's a liability, Pardew misuses him, he's a very, very, very limited footballer and way overrrated.

What Newcastle desperately need, whatever division they're playing in, is a Kevin Nolan/Joey Barton type player. A leader. Someone the likes of us, and perhaps QPR lack. Our current captains are Coloccini (bad English skills, not vocal, doesn't care for the club), Gutierrez (average English skills, not vocal enough, shouldn't be playing at all as he's a liability) and Cabaye (average English, not vocal enough, clearly unhappy and well out of form).

Wonder if Suarez would've won the award if it wasn't for last week. For me, he's easily been the best player this year and much more consistent than the rest.
