Its funny because a lot of players leave seemingly feeling like they have been screwed by wenger.

Tbh, very few players that have left Arsenal have had a bad word to say about Wenger. In fact most have praised him.

Yeah I don't think any players have ever thought that. Why would they?

I've thought about this, and it's definitely the right thing to do. Aside from the rhetoric of "it should give 'em a kick up the arse", we really shouldn't sink to such depths where you can't be good sportsmen. Not that I'll see it, but still.
What I wouldn't like to see, however, is us giving them (and RvP in particular) too much respect on the pitch. That's what happened at OT, and we honestly looked like a lower league team in that match.

There seemed to be a lot of players leaving after a lot of 'this time next year, rodney' promises.

Too much being made about this guard of honour. It's the right thing to do, I don't mind, let them get on with it.

Whether or not I bother to make it to my seat in time is another thing is another story!

Can't really call the result. I don't think utd will let up at all, fergie wants that points total. But, I have a reasonable feeling about the game. 1-1 possibly.

Quite an injury CV there. Bit strange that he seems to be getting fewer injuries as he gets older. He must be the footballing equivalent of Benjamin Button.
He's learnt not to put himself in silly positions. I remember a number of those were either him going for a ball he shouldn't and leaving a leg dangling, or he'd dropped deep, either from inexperience or frustration and was getting clattered. These days he's much more aware of where he is on the pitch and his limitations.

There were also times it went on international duty while carrying an injury, against the club's wishes, and unsurprisingly came back having worsened the injury.

My colleague has just said that rather than do a guard of honour, Arsenal should do the Poznan.

    That'd be hilarious.

Not sure about that. These players come here for one of two reasons, either they're really young and know that Arsenal is a great place to get game time/develop with crazy wages for your age added in or they come here from smaller clubs where Arsenal is a step up at the time.

In both scenarios, they also know they can leave when they're good enough.

The players are getting all the perks, it's Wenger who's nurturing and developing these players only for them all to fuck off for the easy life at a team who wins everything.

Van Persie's actually one of the least guilty of that, considering his age. Had players like Fabregas, Nasri,Adebayor, Flamini, Song etc stayed then maybe we could have won something and all but Fabregas and possibly Nasri could have avoided ruining their careers.

To be fair, I'd consider my options as well if I was asked to play alongside Gervinho.

Yea, it seems silly as he's won loads since leaving but in terms of his reputation and the number of games he has played, he's probably gone some way backwards.

This is mainly down to where he's being employed for Barca also being the position of Messi most of the time.

Ruined career is more than a little OTT.

25 starts in La Liga, 5 starts in the CHampions League = lack of games.

If you mean me then I was probably unclear. I meant that everyone aside from Fabregas and possibly Nasri have ruined their careers.

Don't think Fabregas has, he hasn't got better as a player but he's a (reasonable) regular for the best team in the world and his boyhood club so I think he's probably doing fine.

Nasri only because he does sometime play, certainly not on the levels of Flamini and Song etc. He also hasn't deteriorated as a player like Ade has.

Has Ade deteriorated? He seems like the same one season wonder he was at Arsenal/City. If anything he's lasted a little better at Spurs.

Ade just looks void of confidence. Seems to be trying too hard.

Speaking of massive cunts, have you tried out any of the pubs in Twickers yet?

Haha, dear god Brendan shut up.

"This is a guy who I see on a daily basis trying very hard. (His volatility) is part of his make-up but I genuinely think he is trying to adapt those traits.

"Each time he makes a step forward we find ways to beat him with a stick and beat him down. I can understand if he felt like that in a moment of reflection."

    @mcmonkeyplc

    Not really :-(

Not had a weekend at home since we moved in what with going on hols for 12 days.

Free this Saturday but the house is a mess so we have a tonne to do, plus I'm out tonight and all day Sunday so I can't face drinking 3 days in a row!

Can't wait for stuff to settle down.

    Will do def.

Other problem is that most of the guys i watch footy with don't live in Twickers so i end up watching games in town during the week!

Might be about for the QPR / Arsenal game next Saturday if you're up for that?

Fucking bottled it. It's an inside job. Rogers is an Alex yes man. Look at how he smiled at him when he shook his hand. Bring back Rafa.

I think that's all bases covered.
