That is fucking awesome. I take my hat off to Abel, Mourinho and Real. Genuinely something in my eye...
You have to laugh at the lead photo though: Mourinho looking bored as shit and reading his phone.

The Mail say the PL are going with Hawk-eye for GLT. Suspect there's a large element of fearing a backlash if they'd gone with the German option...

Hawk-Eye's owned by Sony, isn't it? PL fanboy bias confirmed.

Aye. It was at least developed in the UK though (and I assume Trowel was referring to the Lampard goal that brought this to a head...)

I know people always say the FIFA rankings are a load of old shit, but Brazil are... 19th!

The FIFA rankings are a load of old shit though, seriously. You can be pretty sure the team in 20th can beat the team away down in the hundreds, but other than that they're pretty much information-free pointlessness.

They recent results have been poor. They lost to us for starters, as well as Argentina, and draws with Italy and Russia.

Just because they're Brazil they don't automatically get to be high up the rankings.

Its because they had a torrid time last year.

They also went out of the last Copa America having only won a single group game.

Give it another few years and most will be asking "Brazil who?" like they do with Juve in the CL today...

Unless of course they win the WC next year.

    Whatever.

BBC just tweeted that the premier league is to use Goal line tech from August this year.
  • Deleted user 11 April 2013 13:19:13
    Didn't we already know that?

Yeah, but the bbc just tweeted it. You know how no good tweet goes unreported on here.

A better comparison would be Real Madrid, and no-one says "Real Madrid who?" despite them not having reached the CL final for ten years.

Falcao: Only Rennes' Pitroipa (98) has lost the ball due to a poor 1st touch more times than Falcao (81) in Europe's top 5 leagues this term.
Interesting. Gonna love it if Chelsea spend a billion on this guy and he turns out to be shit.

It was a joke based on some idiot (a man u fan, iirc) commenting that Juve were not one of europe's 'big' teams.

Absolutely pointless. The money should be spent on training referees.

Out of interest, I'm slightly too young to know this, but how were Brazil seen before 1994? They hadn't won a World Cup for 36 years, but it's hard for me to imagine them not being one of the favorites for everything.

Lots of talk in Spain it's actually United he could be going to. Reported down payment paid as with the De Gea transfer and he shares the same agent as De Gea. Find it extremely hard to believe.

They were always up there, but Germany and Argentina were really the team to beat for most of the 80s and early 90s.

Surely United won't get stung by them twice?

Heh, maybe we'll send De Gea back, knock 5m off the price.

I still think I prefer the idea of Chelsea doing a deal with them for Torres in exchange, and then him turning out to be even worse than Torres.

Romario, Bebeto, Dunga... all names that we'd rush to "be" during playground football, even though they didn't win titles.
