Disclaimer:Now before you start about existing threads, hear me out...

    Mine is different for these reasons;
    1. There will be a result at the end, unlike other threads that ask you to vote but there is no result.
    2. I am doing the same thing on CVG, so I will combine the results with theirs to get a more accurate overall result.
    3. It's just a lot easier to count everyones votes from a fresh thread.

    So, on to the business...

Yes it's that time again to vote for your favorite games but this time for the Nintendo GameCube. All I need is your Top 3 GameCube games but if you wanna mention more then go ahead!
I got given a GameCube out of the blue one Christmas and tbh I wasn't exactly into it before I got it. I have only played 9 games on the console so I do realise I never played it's full potential. I missed games like Metroid Prime, Super Smash Bros. Melee and the Resident Evil's but I did get to play at least a couple of good games.

Anyway, here are the 9 games that I played in the appropriate order:

    1. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - The single most charming game I have EVER played and to this day the only Zelda I have ever completed. Absolute classic!

    2. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes - Yes the voices sound strange and the cut scenes are a bit OTT at times but I wanted a MGS1 game using the MGS2 engine and that's what I got. Loved it!

    3. Mario Kart: Double Dash‼ - Does Mario Kart ever get old? "No" says this gamer! A racing game with added fun! :D

    4. Super Mario Sunshine - This came with my GameCube, I thought the graphics were impressive and enjoyed the game for a while but then towards the end I got a little bored.
    5. Viewtiful Joe - I thought the game was pretty damn cool but not enough to buy any of the sequels it seems...
    6. Driven - Bought this really cheap and to be fair it wasn't that bad...
    7. TimeSplitters 2 - I had this on both the PS2 and GC, pretty much the same except the GC version was more likely to crash if you went past 500 kills in deathmatch.
    8. Sonic Mega Collection - Bought this for my mum, but boy have SEGA milked these type of games! How many times will they keep re-releasing Sonic the Hedgehog for crying out loud!?
    9. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 - Again, I had it on both the PS2 and GC, the GC version was terrible...it was like a completely different game imo!

So come on then what are your top 3 GameCube games?

I played Resi 4 on the PS2, good game but I don't think it's as good as people make out imo.

Go with 3. I honestly can't remember which one I had and loved.

And I am removing BGaE since I mainly played that on PC. Instead I'll do:

    Eternal Darkness
    Tony Hawks
    Wind Waker

    Last change I promise.

Thanks TYA, Pikmin I never played but it didn't appeal to me either, looked childish.

    But I'm sure it wasn't!...?

I got a gamecube late on in it's life to mop up some of the exclusives, so any multi plat stuff i'd already played, this makes for a short list of games to pick from.

Paper Mario TTYD: loved this, it's one of those games I would love to be able to mind-rubber out so I could experience it all over again. One of the main reasons I bought a wii was to play the next paper Mario game after this, which of course was nowhere near as good.

NBA street: this is a weird one. Totally addicted to this game, which is totally not my normal genre, and happened to play it on the GC, so it gets a vote.

Mario golf: toadstools tour. Once again got addicted for a time, probably the mild rpg elements if I remember it right.

That means 2 games narrowly miss out:

Harvest moon: it's a wonderful life, because I would have loved it but it just drifted rather than satisfyingly grabbed me after investing a lot of time, and

Some rpg card-based game, that I don't think was Baiten Kaitos (sp?), that I loved completely, but can hardly put in the top 3 if I can't remember the name now, can I?

I've turned off all the avatars and crap, so don't expect me to be impressed by yours.

You could argue that the majority of Nintendo games look childish, i thinks thats one of Ninty's main draws, they spark your inner youth while maintaining a sense of challenge. The Pikmin games have it in abundance, and like Prime, i cant recommend them to you enough. Pikmin 1 and 2 are joyous and are undeniable stand-outs for the GC.
    :)

btw, did you get yourself a Gamecube after?

    That was Cappys fault :p
Wow, so a good game then? ;)

@mrpon, you sure you preferred Resi 4 to the remake? :D
@RabidChild - CHEERS! I liked F-Zero on the SNES, I've heard the GC version is hard as nails though!
@speedofthepuma - Beautiful response, that's what i like to see...Love for thy games (even if it is NBA Street :p)
@TYA - DrEggtimer couldn't find the GC :( Anyone else wanna give me one? :D
@Collymilad - Cheers, is that Resident Evil Remake?

With that logic you could give most Nintendo releases a wide berth (and a much poorer person you'd be ;).
