    It's well interesting though.

Do you think he will fist her on their wedding night? Maybe she'll pee on him through a collander? Perhaps they'll kill a tramp together?

    I am sooooo excited!!!

I'm not a royalist whatsoever, but it all sounds cool to me.

Good luck to them. Both seem like good honest people, who are into each other.

I'm afraid the royal seal cannot be penetrated.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

Is there any way to vacate the planet next year whilst this is going on?

(Don't get me wrong, best of luck to the pair of them but jeez almighty, did it really need THAT much press coverage?!)

That came across as such a cynical publicity stunt.

Saw an interview with them both this morning (I live in Australia) and the interviewer asked Kate what she said after Will proposed?

Erm ''Yes'' would be my guess?

I like it when he's angry.

Just seemed like the most stupid question a journalist has ever asked, but yeah ''KER-CHING'' would have shortly followed the ''Yes'' I would of thought.

    "Kate, will you marry me?"

    "Oh, William! I will!"

"Fabbo! Here let me put this ring on your finger. Try and forget that it was last given to another commoner who married into the Royal Family, and thirty years later we're still discussing the circumstances of her suspicious death. I'm pretty sure that won't happen again. Particularly as Gramps is knocking on a bit now."

"Erm... actually, can I think about it for a bit?"

Why? Always in the public eye? Always criticized for everything you do? Never able to spend money on yourself without the media screaming expenses, sounds horrible to me....

I think it's interesting because of the potential impact the event has on the royal family as an institution, though obviously the media circus surrounding it will become utterly boresom long before they actually tie the knot.

It'll be an important litmus test for royal popularity, in particular popularity surrounding William's generation of royals. While the Queen has, even in the darkest days of the whole Diana situation, enjoyed very high levels of public approval (far higher than any PM could hope for), her children do not. This might give the royal household a few hints on whether William would be a more sensible choice as the next monarch, and result in increased pressure on Charles to pass up the throne.

If there is a public holiday they'll get away with it nicely. If not, the turn will be swift and bloody...

Or he loved his mum and he loves this girl and he wanted to give her something that meant a lot to him
