    Trillion?
I've made about 5 billion in about 35 years and didn't think I was doing too badly

Aw shit, I think you're right.

    I thought it was

    1,000k = Million
    100,000k - Billion
    1,000,000k = Trillion

    But it's actually,

    1,000k = Million
    1,000,000k = Billion (US)

    Oops

    :o

I'm shit at it, then. :) On year 5 and only 1 game sold 1 mill, and only one nomination for GotY.

    Still love it though.

I still giggle that it doesn't check number of games relative to consoles, so you can develop a console that sells 15 million units then sell 30 million copies of it's best game.

A console developed by an ex-wrestler Hardware Engineer who also develops the games. This game is barking mad but so very good :)

Things I'd like to see in the sequel:

    - A more indepth Gamedex
    - The chance of the boosts actually working (considering how often my staff fail when the chance is 80%...)
    - No blackouts (really cheap, and incredibly annoying as they usually happen when you have very high points)
    - Genres to actually make sense
    - More high-level staff to hire
    - More advertising choices (they're all useless bar Lunar Writing once you get to a point in the game)

Basically, an expanded and refined GDS will do me just fine.

I like coming up with the plots behind the game titles.

    J. Bullet (a marathon shooter) - Johnny Bullet is the most popular marathon runner in the world, having wowed crowds everywhere with his style and panache. He turns up for his latest marathon to find it under attack by terrorists. Using his long-distance running skills, he must single out and take down terrorists, recover weaponry from their bodies, and use said weaponry against the bigger terrorist cells waiting for him along the 26 miles of the course.

Panzer Churchill (war shooter) - a German tank in WWII realises he is on the side of evil and turns against his comrades, crushing his way through panzer divisions on his way to Berlin, where Hitler awaits in his King Tiger.

Brown Caver (action exploration) - chronicles the adventures of Richard Pitt, spelunker for hire, who comes across an ancient treasure map hidden in the buttock cleft of an even older Sumerian statue. The map describes the route to the lost city of Iram of the Pillars, or more precisely, its sewer, which contains a lot of treasure. And a lot of ancient poo.

Crude Surgery (pirate puzzle) - Playing Petey Chopper the Pirate Doctor, you have to arrange/heal/chop off your crewmates' internal organs, injuries and limbs.

I loved this, but tell me something- was I just lucky?

I restarted my game after releasing about 5 titles and doing shite.

Then I started again, and basically within 10 releases was in the Hall of Fame, and now every game I release gets 9s and 10s and gets in the HOF, and Im so rich I can buy 8 Lunar writings to promote a game without thinking about it!

I'm at the stage now where there's no point. Got over 500,000k in the bank, even Lunar Writing does nothing for my overall fan number.

Thinking of restarting, it's a good little game. Would love a sequel to fix its flaws, mind.

Halo Dance 2 sold over 36,000,000,000 copies. Or is that million?

That would explain the poor sales of my "Halol Bleach" war shooter. Still, the mini-skirt action RPG "Skirt Raider 2" was a runaway success.

Game Dev Story has entered my personal Hall of Fame, hopefully the devs are working on a sequel.

Well Game Dev Story is a very old game with a sequel already on the web released almost a decade ago. Hopefully, the mobile version of 2 won't take as long to develop as the original.

This is now on Game Centre, with achievements and everything. So I've started playing it again.

One of the achievements is having a game sell 100 mil; I've never topped around 55 mil in previous games so that'll be a challenge.

Some of new games from my new company Winnit Inc include drum game Beat-Off and racing game F-Off, along with time travel RPG Past Tense.

There's a bug where the game will crash if you win the game of the year award. If you save regularly this will fuck you up and there's nothing you can do.

I encountered it, but I reloaded an older save (not much older) and it let me progress. Some of the achievements are also glitched if you have a save already going. I can't get any of the sales figures achievements, even though my games all sell 30m+. You also won't get the achievements for hiring the monkey, wrestler and robot if you already have them. No surprise really.

I'd have all the achievements bar the 100mil one otherwise, but I'm not going to start a new game just for that.

    It's a poor man's Xbox Live for iOS ;-)

When I first updated, I had the crashing bug, but I just started a new game. Now I seem to have a bug where I just can't get the 50mil achievement. I've had three or four games sell over that, but no cheevo :-(

Not sure how to get the "console like a spaceship" achievement; I've developed my own, which is very sexy and has a Blu Ray player and whatnot, and I've developed for the Johnny-5 lookalike console, but not sure what the spaceship one is.

Achivements, Razz. It's Achievements. If you like achieving achievements, you can now do so.

There is some lag on the achievements (like the sales targets) BUT just keep playing. I have a feeling they tied in the code that checks for those achievements to a specific event (like the Awards or Gamedex), so if you keep playing past the point you hit the sales target, it will pop up eventually. There are a few like that, but it awarded them all in the end.
