    I got Fallout : NV last week but havent played it yet and have noticed some reviews remarking about its "better focus on humour" than Fallout 3.
    Thinking back to Fallout 3, i can understand where their coming from as there were some damn creepy moments in there :

    Andale - Just the whole frickin' level

    Tenpenny Tower - Feral ghouls.......EVERYWHERE.

    Dunwich Bulding - See above.

    Vault 108 - Gary.

    Got me thinking back to Resident Evil too. I remember buying that game and going straight into it with very little knowledge. The first time you see that zombie on the floor, who slowly turns his head to look at you - got some serious shivers from that!.
    So, what are gamings creepiest moments?

    Minecraft after dark or while you're exploring the depths. Minecraft delivers more 'fuck me, run away!' moments than anything else has for years.

    Yeah, especially when you walk past one of them and notice it's not quite like the others.

    I can understand why they went down a more serious route with Fallout 3. The amount of in-jokes, pop culture references and so on in Fallout 2 ruined the atmosphere.

    Still a good game, but 2 was walking a very fine line between that and utter farce most of the time.

    Just walking about at night in Fallout 3, can be creepy

    I kid you not but that MP level in MW2 when you are in the room with the clothing mannequins always gave me the willies for some reason.

    STALKER had some very creepy moments, some of them random stuff but pretty much every underground place in the game was very creepy.

    I still think Return to the Cathedral is the scariest thing I've ever done in-game.

    Here's someone playing it on easy

    Silent Hill 2 - what a game!

    Terrible game but the story in Silent Hill 4: The Room really creeped me out.

    And when I was a kid, in Super Castlevania, there was a level with these enemies that were like a couple dancing - for some reason that really creeped me out.

    All of "Limbo of the Lost"

    and the crucified body in Silent Hill 1, to this day it still sticks with me opening that door and just looking at it going WHAT THE F*CK!

    Sneaking around in one of Gothic's forests, knowing that there are wolves sneaking silently around you. At night (in Gothic, night means DARK). They always came up behind you, and they were always perfectly silent up until a split second before they jumped up and bit you in the neck. That growl! Horrible!

    Also, I always found that ghost howling "Vengeance!" in Daggerfall pretty creepy.

    Speaking of Gothic, in Gothic 3 nothing is more scary than a wild boar, they can take down an entire army of anything that stands in their path! ;-)

    This! ^ Did it last night for the first time, and it's got a lot of WTF run moments. 6 plasma shots left, there's three guys coming at me... I can take these on no problem.... OH SHI I'm out of stasis and there's a guy who won't die unless you burn him witha shuttle engine!.

    Also, Half life 2, Ravenholme. Doing that with only the gravity gun and you first encounter the screaming, bounding fast as hell zombies.

    Always was freaked out as a kid by the zombies in the orginal thief. Think it was the sounds of them that got me the most, plus knowing that you couldnt really kill them makes it that much worse when you start to hear them groaning near you.
