Still haven't seen the first one after the reviews it got. Been pretty tired of X-movies, a new take on the whole thing would be better.

Registered 8 years agoWolverine gets hooked on drugs, trapped in the prison of his own mind. Forever, because he can't die. He watches through a drug-addled haze as his friends abandon him, seeking their own happiness. New friends come, but they always leave him.

Registered 6 years agoIt hasn't been canned at all.
It was due to be his next project after Black Swan, but then Fox approached him with a new project which there have been numerous rumours about for several weeks now with Wolverine 2 being the top one seeing as Jackman himself claimed to have 'hand picked' the director for the film (he's an executive producer on it). Turns out those rumours were true.
But no one has ever said the Robocop reboot has been canned and seeing as Aronofksy co-wrote the script, I doubt he will be letting go of it just yet. -

It would interesting to see his take on action like this. Robocop too. Only a matter of time before the studios get round to that one. -

Says it's not a sequel or part of the same lineage as Origins and the title will be just "The Wolverine".

The Wolverine? Never heard him called that.

Registered 5 years agoAgreed - I watched X Men Oranges: Wolverine purely by accident and it wasn't half as bad as I expected it to be, plus it all kind of managed to wrap itself up quite nicely.
Except Deadpool was shite. -
Pretty sure nick was joking.

Registered 7 years agoIt isn't a sequel? WTF?
Is Hugh in it again? Isn't Wolverine without Hugh. -
Yes he is. It's being treated as a standalone story - it isn't like there was anything worth continuing on from Origins anyway.
There s a slim chance this might be alright. If only Fox weren't involved. -

Registered 7 years agoWell, it'll be stupid if it contradicts anything that's been told in the other X-Men or Origins movie(s). Like, how are they going to deal with his wife - dead, alive, never existed? Those are the kinds of questions that keep me up at night. -

No surprise that questions about wives keep you up at night. We know the real problem...

He has no memory of his wife, we know later on he has no memory of his wife. I'm not sure she's that important or interesting.
-
It's just a Wolverine story. Give me lots of action, blood, claws, fun story with no overkill of mutants and it'll be fine. Could still be the Japan story which is meant to be good but I've no idea what it is.
As M_E says, nothing worth carrying on from Origins anyway. -
