Just started painting these again. Started with a group of space wolves, then migrated onto Warhammer with the island of blood box set, an arachnarok spider and battalion of orcs and goblins between myself and my brother. Any other EG'ers still painting? If so put up some more pics.

    Smurf Tank

    Skaven Screaming Bell...

...and the Rat Ogre on the back of it.

These are the last things I painted to completion. I haven't touched a brush for 6 months now. Lost my mojo.

Does anyone actually play the game? It looks like the biggest pain in the arse ever from watching a few videos.

Not to sound negative, I like strategies and enjoy the Blood Bowl PC game when it works but this just seems convoluted and fiddly. I was just wondering if people actually play or they just paint?

Not played the game, but going to give it a go with my bro when he gets his arse in gear.

Main game I played was Blood Bowl back in the day. Brilliant game and made all the better in a tourny when the skill points start coming into it for getting touchdown, knockouts, accurate passes etc and choosing how to use them to beef up players.

    Good work there, Stickman.
Last thing I painted was a Space Marine squad about 2 years ago.

Got a copy of bloodbowl up in my mum's attic. Have to dig that out if I ever start talking to her again. Also the game's on special on steam, or was recently anyways.

I also have a copy of the game in the flat. Flipped through the rule book the other day to see how much I remembered of the rules and I was pretty much up to scratch.
I'd love to have game with someone but not one of my friends would be willing to give it a try.

I haven't played any for years, impressively old bump by the way. Play in a pub though !?! That seems like a very very bad idea to me.

I KNEW when I saw this you'd be in here :D

Totally agreed, I'd love the shamehappyshame of drinking in a pub while a game of Warhammer unfolds.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

If only I did mate. Unfortunately I'm over in the South West in Wiltshire so it would be a bit of a drive.

Fingers crossed they are still packed away nicely and there are no paint chips.
Though, that could encourage me to whip out the paint brush again.

I've got a couple more, but they're from a while back.

    Dragginz

    ...that guy's shield

    Huron Blackheart

I might have to break out the paints now actually.

By the way, anyone who wants models give me a shout because if I have them, I'll sell them to you on the cheap.

Tell you what I am really enjoying at the mo is the Horus Heresy books.
Up to Mechanicum, book no.9 I think all about the war on Mars, but not started it just yet. Might start it tonight.

It did get a bit boring in one or two of them but the last two I read picked up the pace.

No, or for Warhammer (the swords and magic version). It would absolutely destroy their business.

Wish they would at least do a digital version of a game they dont make/sell anymore.

    Necromunda.

This would be perfect for something like XBLA/PSN. Most of the main rules but matches are alot smaller and quicker.

I can imagine a digital version of 40K being quite time-consuming but when you only have 8-12 troops to move the matches would last 30 mins or so.

It's not destroyed magic the gathering, if anything it's better. They should make a perpetual online version where people can buy figurines and paint them etc digitally. Magic do a thing where you can exchange sets for real cards.

There are a few videogame versions of space hulk at least, including this unofficial fan one: Alien Assualt

Used to be Space hulk themed until GW got a little too interested, but it's more or less the same thing anyway. It's bloody brutal though!
