12 days off work. I forsee a lot of shredded fingertips, a lot of blu-tack, and a lot of ummming and ahhhhing over possible conversion work. Definitely aiming for the Bezerkers to utilise the cloak backs from a Fantasy boxset I'd bought for heads, an idea that's been bandied about before.
A few spacers to bulk up a few as a retinue, one as a towering lord, my imagination is running wild. I hope my skills are up to it ! And what the hell is finecast ? It's my first experience with it in the form of a Kharn model, and it's just.....weird.You can read this ? You've helped ruin the place.

Registered 3 months agoFinecast is a form of resin, it gives greater detail and quality of detail, now that the issues have been worked out, over the old metal material and is easier to stick due to lack of weight, use superglue for it. On the flip side, its easier to damage when trimming/filing so its worth getting the tool set GW do, or an alternative, so you can get rid of flash and mould lines better than with a knife. -

Registered 3 months agoSome of my Flames of War stuff, got the Open Fire set last Christmas and used it to start this Bastogne German force off, got a US Airborne company in the works next and some of the Vietnam stuff, with GW stuff planned once I can decide which game system and army!

Registered 6 years agoBetween all the Horus Heresy stuff and the upcoming Battle for Whatever Pass they can't release their stuff fast enough, damnit! I'm really hoping for some decent Empire Cavalry from them.
Edit: Oh , and Happy Birthday!

Registered 3 months agoYeah like the Heresy stuff but the price is just a bit nuts for what you get, then they pile on 12% postage charge as well. If they were an eBay seller they'd be 1 starred to death with some of those charges..... -

Registered 7 years agoWIP Storm
Only taken a few hours through afternoons, hopefully finish by tomorrow. Still pales to paintjobs like thon, but I prefer a clean style. Then begins the real work..... KHOOOOOOORNE !
As for eBaying, I've started firing a few things up for sale. Quite a few watchers and bids already to my surprise, though I'm still deciding how to split/group my Eldar. Should hopefully get decent amounts for the Noise Marines and Wolves, probably list them in the run up to payday/end of month.
That'll pay for some more Bloodcrushers. And a Predator. And bits. Dammit. You can read this ? You've helped ruin the place.

Now for the OSL goblins surrounding him. Chop chop.gif)

Registered 7 years agoWell, I've dusted off the Storm, tidied away the paints, and.......I'm done.
Really, truly, done. Found the better camera, that had this pic still on it, my force as of the end of Jan.
Now ?
Scars.
Left lot.
Right lot.
Fin.
Being older and having more patience has certainly been a boon, and I'm still on the lookout for an old edition Pred, but I think that'll do. I'm nowhere near the ability of some of the work on show, but I'm still enjoying the swing of things again. Now, onto the fun choppy-chop of converting plastic....

That looks really good. Now if only I could motivate myself to get out the paints and actually put some on my hordes of unpainted wolves. You have a lot of the older metal wolves? I have been keeping an eye out for lots of them and would be happy to chat about what you would like etc for metal ones if that is what you have!
/has a thing for the wolves -

Registered 2 years agoAwesome Gobbo, it's taken me 25 years to get to barely servicable, will be 160 or so before I attempt OSL like that.
Awesome Scars too, that's a proper 40K army, beautiful. There are some new Heresy era Marine bikes on FW you know, would be great for a character or two

That'd be Space Wolves, rather than actual wolves. Pic a few pages back, if it's the Astartes kind we're both on about. You can read this ? You've helped ruin the place.

Yes it was the Astartes kind. PM a figure you would like for them but know that I am based in Ireland so postage etc would be more of an issue. -

New pics I took today. Not full level of detail on this mini. Knocked out over a day, on and off. Not sure about the colour of the smoke, maybe purple would have been better... Didn't want to go with green cause of the skin colour clash. -
Nah the yellow is growing on me. Maybe making it whiter would offer a contrast against the yellow you use elsewhere?
Your mini etc etc.LB, you really are a massive geek.
