I am reminded of the VW ad. Various people looking at assorted cars...
"See - the door shuts, just like a Golf."
"The boot space is nearly as good as a Golf."
"It come with a 5-speed gearbox, just like a Golf."

    So buy a Golf!

Everything that comes out is going to be:

'Ok, it doesn't work quite as well as an iPad, but it does have a camera.'
'Ok the app process isn't as slick as the app store, but it is 100g lighter than an iPad.'
'Ok, the interface isn't as intuitive as an iPad, but it does have a USB socket.'

I'd be curious to see whether that is a vaguely realistic example of how slick the OS is (the tablet should be powerful enough to have transitions like that everywhere) or whether it is just marketing bullshit and the actual tablet is nowhere near that slick.

Sounds like the perfect word to reel in the kind of business twat to equates doing a deal with a sport or a war. In other words, all of the American ones.

I'd like to see how it actually runs, and if the dual core processor makes a difference. It's been the case for a while that RIM's idea of responsiveness doesn't really coincide with mine.

Saw that recently on telly and I lolled. Looks like they have gone down the Appllol marketing route.

Also noticed the latest Adobe messages suggesting you check out other mobile devices that actually support flash.

I guess all that you have seen the new prices for the RIM Playbooks. 169 for 16gb. 199 for 32gb. 3239 for 64gb. Currys has a buy them here list.

I bought one, because at those prices, they are a steal. Have any eurogamers got one? I know that the King of Spain does. Anybody else?

Was going to recommend this in the "budget tablet" thread. Great bit of kit for that price - some serious grunt.

Anyone interested should also check this out - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1asYINT2lg - possible desktop replacement perhaps?

I almost bought a playbook when it was first dropped to 230 at PC world / Curry's, but then decided against it as it wasn't as good as I hoped. Tempted by it now, but I have a feeling that it will drop in price again pretty soon as RIM try to make way for it's successor. 99 for this sucker and i'll be all over it.

Yeah, when I was testing it in the shop it didn't feel as good as the other brands (apple, samsung, etc), so I decided against it. Will see if Sony discount their tablet s any further than the latest price drop, as that was impressive.

Senso-Ji and Crispy. I think you're overlooking the price. 199 for 32GB? And official access to the Android marketplace with the next update in Feb? Personally, I think that is a steal and for sofa surfing, that is all I need.

I bought one yesterday and im loving it. It's nice and quick and I love the ui. The multitasking is genius too. Yes it needs more apps but if they get the android apps working it'll be ideal.

At it's original price of around 400 I dont think id be quite so happy but at 169 it's bloody awesome.

I already have a iPad so didnt really want another large expensive tablet and I've been looking something a little smaller to be used as a simple ultra-portable internet device and this is fitting the bill perfectly.

If you're looking for a cheap slick 7'' internet device/tablet, I really cant recommend it enough.
