    If there's already an official thread for this, ignore and lock this one :p.

    PSN is down from 4pm Tuesday 21st September 2010 to 2am Wednesday 22nd September 2010.

    You can play online during the maintenance but you must log into PSN and remain logged in before 4pm on Tuesday. During the maintenance, you can't access the following services:

    * PlayStation Store on PS3, PSP and PC.
    * PlayStation Network Account Management.
    * PlayStation Network Account Registration.

    You also can't sign in to PSN from eu.playstation.com. Any trophies you earn during the maintenance will be put onto your profile after the maintenance is completed.

    Thread needs more posts. Does this mean the store will update on Thursday this week?

    Would be nice if Sony would send a message alerting its users that maintenance is scheduled ahead of it talking place like Microsoft always do. I've just updated my PS3's firmware (AGAIN!) only to discover that I cannot log on so it looks like a fault with the installation.

    And so much for Sony adding better descriptions for 14 common PS3 errors because this is one I see everytime they do this unannounced maintenance:

    "An error has occurred
    (80023017)"

    Is that even remotely informative?!?

    Sony, IMHO, should be following Microsoft's lead on how to do firmwares and maintenance properly!

    PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Xbox One, PC (Intel Core i7-4770K, 16 GB, 4 GB EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 SC, Windows 8.1 Pro), iPad 4, iPad mini with Retina Display.

    Ah, I'm glad I found this, was beginning to think my life had been hacked, first my bank log-in password doesn't seem to work, next thing I can't sign in to PSN... at least one of those two hasn't fucked up.

    Lara Croft is supposed to be next week, the 28th.

    edit: stupid predictive text has never heard of Lara Croft.

    OK, I forgot about Sonic Adventures. I believe Blade Kitten is due tomorrow as well.

    I can say it in the context of the PSP store updates. We'll get 101 game(s) at least but it's not a brilliant looker...

    Anyone else have multiple accounts, ie US and Japan, and not been able to sign into the PSN store in those regions after the update/downtime? It might be something really simple, but I got an error message each time...Might have to create new accounts.

    According to what I've read, the stores are still down and will probably stay that way until the end of the window.

    Just wait till tomorrow and then questions can be asked :)

    Thanks for that, I thought since ours was back up, theirs would be too. That'll teach me patience so it will! So wanted that Blade Kitten demo, tomorrow it is.

    Thanks again.

    Hopefully that explains why I couldn't login 10mins ago. I got an error saying "This service is not available in your country/region".
    Well I hope it's because of that and not because of the 3.50 update

    Yes, it has.

    So much for Sony adding useful error messages in this new firmware... I got an unhelpful message that PSN Store was not available in my region while trying to access it and repeated attempts to log into PSN in the first place resulted in a cryptic error message and my auto-stored password being removed (the latter was extremely annoying)! How about telling people "PSN is down for maintainence between XXX and YYY" instead, Sony?!?

    A bit of common-sense would no doubt limit the number of phone calls you must get from confused PS3 owners who think their PS3 has developed a fault. And that only happens because Sony are too damn ignorant to announce maintenance ahead of it happening like Microsoft ALWAYS do. IMO, Sony's whole approach to PSN and even the PS3's operating system has been somewhat amateurish to say the least.

    PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Xbox One, PC (Intel Core i7-4770K, 16 GB, 4 GB EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 SC, Windows 8.1 Pro), iPad 4, iPad mini with Retina Display.

    PSN is down from 4pm Thursday 28th October 2010 to 12:30am Friday 29th October 2010 (that's 00:30 for the easily confused).

    During the maintenance, you will be unable to access the following services:

    * PlayStation Store on PS3, PSP and PC.
    * PlayStation Network Account Management.
    * PlayStation Network Account Registration.

    In addition, you will not be able to sign in to PlayStation Network from eu.playstation.com. If you wish to play online during the maintenance, please ensure you sign in to PSN before 16:00 on Thursday 28 October 2010.

    During this maintenance, you can continue to collect in-game trophies and these will be updated on your profile once PlayStation Network is back up and running.
