And how old is your anus, may I ask?

Anyway, Dark Souls 2 will be tearing me a new one next week so it's all moot.

Take a she for this thread to die. They'll be people that buy ds2 that won't have done ds and they're bound to come here sooner or later

Contemplating a quick challenge run if I'm finished with South Park before BDSM 2 (heh) hits on Friday...

    Dark Souls: NES Edition

    Rules:

    - Three Lives. Ring of Sacrifices count as 1ups.

    - Estus healing permitted, but no bonfire kindling.

    - Offline mode (there was no online MP in 1989!), and no NPC summoning.

    - No Sorceries, Miracles, or Pyro guff.

    - No shop purchases or armour upgrades. Weapon and shield upgrades are allowed.

    - No restriction on weapon usage. All are fair game, except bows

    - No Master key.

Let's see how far I can get! (Asylum Demon...)

Sweet I now have two Darkwraiths on the go, one about to enter NG++ and one pissing about in the upper levels of blighty. I cannot believe how many folk go human in blighttown. That's just asking for trouble surely? Never mind, good pickings for me then. Not played DS for ages but immersing myself in it's bleakness this week in prep for DS2.

Going to concentrate on my Thief build now. Can anyone give me any tips? Will I just concentrate on backstabs and parries with the dagger? Any weapon worth seriously going for? I don't want a big sword or anything like that. Also, can I parry pretty much every normal enemy? I only ask as keep getting nailed by stone giants, can't seem to parry them and my dagger does fuck all damage face to face.

Fucking Sens bastard fortress. I think I may be getting near the bonfire but keep getting killed by what I think is the highest set of pendulum blades.

Tip for that bit andyc1980; They're actually two sets of two blades and there's a gap in between them you can stop at. You don't need to run/leap through both sets of axes; just nip through the first set, stop and wait for an opening to the other side.

People make that so much harder than they really need to...

@SomaticSense - Good luck with that. I reckon you'd get to Capra. Then GAME OVER!!!

@andyc1980; No problem, the amount of times I've seen people try to run through that bit...

Don't misunderstand; there IS a sweet spot where you can get through unscathed, but I'd say that's a 1 in 10 longshot at best. Just swing the camera around, note which bricks to stop at and you'll be fine.

Sen's Fortress is only hard for those who try to rush through it haphazardly. The best phrase for that whole area is, "More haste less speed"...

@Kami yeah I've been crawling through the place as it seems there's always something waiting to have you. Hoping to get outta there or at least to the bonfire tonight.

@andyc1980; Hope you got some poison arrows on you. Bomb Giant can still be a real pain! But you should always have a good supply of poison arrows anyway.

Good luck though, once you hit that bonfire, you can really breathe a sigh of relief...

    @andyc1980

Once you have made it to the last axes you are really close to the bonfire. It's slightly hidden though so have a good look in all directions.

@EMarkM oh I can probably guarantee there will be one. Still not put as many hours into this character as my first one. And I'm considerably further on.

Right seriously. Can someone tell me if it is actually possible to backstab the undead parish armoured boar? I can see it's arse is exposed but still can't seem to do it. Is it actually doable or am I just being crap?

@Wunty_Phyve I don't think you can actually backstab it but you can do more damage by attacking its arse.

@andyc1980 cheers I'll just keep at it. Never been a problem before but armed only with a dagger the bloody thing is tearing me a new one.

No, you can backstab it properly. I did it accidentally for the first time a few months ago. I'd never known about it before. :D

Dunno if there's a specific trick besides the usual. Maybe you need a longer weapon, or run the risk of losing your watch.
