In other words, from the list of ten (or however many it is) items, you can only ever trade one of each in a playthrough.

Hooray! NG+ on the PC version. Have to say, after screaming bloody murder at the PC for what must have been a couple of hours before Kalameet went down, Gwyn was such a pushover it was kind of embarassing to think I did it around SL130 last time...still finished on SL110 this time.
Started NG+, and it's kind of refreshing not to have to do all the irritating side bits like wade through half a dozen hollows to get at the rough pointed stick behind them, I can walk right by. Took about half an hour to unlock the crest door and use the chaps inside as a test of how I measure up to the game. (yes, rather over-levelled! But I'm sure that as it gets harder and harder to find enough souls to level up, I'll soon come a cropper.)
Big test next time...on NG I couldn't get a tail cut off either Church nor Anor Londo gargoyle, and I really need it for the trophy. After that, no farming, no collecting, no upgrading, just bosses, bosses, bosses.

@FogHeart I see what you mean about the area beyond the crest door now. It's certainly different to what's come before.
As you said above, is this what the area is good for: testing your level against the game?
If so, I reckon I might need to boost Vit a bit. I can take down the enemies fairly easily, but if I get kicked and stunned they can usually get in a cheeky one-shot kill.
@EMarkM oh, I doubt it. This game is still full of questions for me. Like this one:
What armour is best for my Pyro DEX build? I've been using the starting kit only so far, partly because everything else is so bloody heavy. But, I've just got Havel's ring, which lightens the load somewhat.
So, any recommendations? I've not been upgrading my starting rags for fear that something better will come along - although I do know that the rags have their plus points, like curse resistance.
@FatsoJetson The whole key to this is the stats screen. Don't forget you can toggle what is displayed on the right hand side of your screen while equipping gear.
There's no bonus for using "whole sets" of armour in this game, unlike in Skyrim, for instance. My technique was as follows:-
I routinely grabbed ALL armour from my Bottomless Box, and started trying everything out, one piece at a time.
Keep one eye on the left side of the screen, showing the benefit each piece gives, and one eye on the right, showing the equip load and special defences/poise/etc.
You want BELOW 25% equip load for a Dex char. Havel's Cock Ring really helps with this. Using it permanently gives a so-called "light armour" char access to some pretty heavy stuff. By the way, you have to work the percentage out for yourself. The load is shown in the format "29.9/120", and, believe me, the tenths of a point can be all-important.
You will usually find you first choose the main body piece with the best physical defence, and work out the other three pieces by picking the ones that bring you closest to that magical

You have forgotten the most important thing quaddy has taught us - style.
He'll be so disappointed in you
If you don't look sexy, you're doing it wrong
I'm playing a red-headed chick. I *always* look sexy!
*Chuck Norris accent*
In PvP there is not style in your armour, only in your fighting!!!

@FabricatedLunatic Have a look around.
Who knows? You MIGHT face Ole Nudeybollox again one day...
I dunno if it's because I'm overlevelled or simply because Old Nudeybollox wasn't too fond of my pyro spells, but I defeated him first time in probably less than a minute. I had more trouble with those sodding clams outside. Oh, and balls to the Crystal Caves. By the end I was able to get from the bonfire to the boss in 2-3 minutes, but that was only after much fail.

Can anyone give me a step by step guide on trading with snuggly.
Everytime i've tried it just fails for some reason.
For info this is how I do it.
Find out what I want from wiki
Go to snuggly and stand exactly in the nest
In the menu, drop the item you want to trade
Now go to options/quit game
Load up your char again
Pick up the now traded object
Weird little thing. Each time you reload into that area your character has moved back a little bit. Keep an eye on this as you could eventually end up falling off the cliff, the skill of which I am a master

If you drop the item and the crow doesn't say anything it is a "good" trade
If it doesn't like it then it will say something

What's happening when you try?
I drop item I want to trade, quit/reload. And basically my item has gone and theres nothing to pick up?
I have to do it in the asylum? not the firelink?
