@retro74 there are in-game items that let you say stuff like 'hello' and 'thank you'.

@EMarkM cheers,  think I have my tactic it's just a case of carrying it out.

Sprint up and then to the left Archer giving me cover from the right Archer.  Kill him then get to the right one.

I think what annoys me most is my mistake and then being able to see my souls in the distance when I return.

    Fuckers!

@crashVoodoo the ring of fog makes the bit with the archers a hell of a lot easier.

The Anor Londo archers are the hardest bit of the game. I've heard people say go straight for the guy on the right, I tend to do what crashVoodoo does, go for lefty and the building gets int he way, and then good luck getting the other guy, you can roll under his arrows, sometimes.

    BOOM! Archers down!
Now I'm gonna take it out on the Knights in these few rooms a bit.

Smack smack smack.  Restore.  Smack smack......

I got that Oswald guy to absolve my sins earlier, cost a whopping 13500 souls though D: Luckily the Gargoyle bosses gave me 10k just before I met him though :)

Is there any worse feeling than losing a huge amount of souls that you lose permanently or don't end up retrieving? :( I can't stop myself remembering when it happens, I'm probably up to 20-25k total now, though I'm guessing that's pocket change souls compared to you players on NG+.

@Futaba - Any reason why you requested absolution?

I've completed the game 10 times and never done it. Just wondering how it affects things.

After a while you don't mind losing souls so much. My NG character that I am using to help folk out is level 32 and has about 250k souls on it at the moment

I expect that I will lose all those at some point

I accidentally hit the undead merchant thinking he was an enemy, then ran off before one of us killed the other. Since Oswald absolved my sins, the Merchant is willing to trade with me again instead of attacking me on sight :)

Whoa, that's a lot. Are you staying a lower level for more of a challenge?

@Futaba Yeah staying low level for a challenge and to improve chances of being summoned. I've completed it several times with my first character so created this second one just to assist people with the game

Today I have beaten around 30 bosses meaning i've ended up with all those souls but with nothing to spend them on

Making progress through the painted world. Interesting area with lots of loot!

Problem is in my exploration I seem to have amassed lots of souls. Currently bowling around with 35k in my pocket. Not sure whether to head back to bonfire or push on.

@robc84 Yeah, level up, repair gear, upgrade anything you have the materials for.

Too easy to lose those souls where you are.

@robc84 you're doing similar to me.  I ended up heading for the fog wall then legging it across the courtyard to open the shortcut door upgrading stuff.  It's a great place for amassing lots of souls.  I went up so many levels here.

Hmmm, ok. Shouldn't take too long to get back to where I am (just picked up velka's armour and rapier as well as a spell)

Also took out the weird dragon thingy :D

Do you happen to have Poison Mist or Toxic Mist?

Got a lot done tonight, beat the Capra Demon, killed the minibosses around Undead Burg that were annoying me and ran into a giant wolf, which I promptly teleported away from in fear of my life. Up to level 37 now and have a miracle I can use to teleport to bonfires, that will save me some stress in future :)

Do you tend to use a guide for the boss fights. I have only just started playing it, and because of the difficulty I can't stop myself from looking things up online. But I am wondering if I am really missing out by doing this. It would be so hard to figure some of these things out by trial and error though.

    @RightBean It's classic old-fashioned gaming boss-time :)

Learn the moves, the pattern, the rhythm. Learn from your mistakes.

There's plenty of non-spoilery, incremental advice to be had on this thread that will prevent you from wrecking your game with walkthroughs.

    Good luck.

I did often check the resistances of bosses to see which weapon was best, not sure that ruins the experience but it sure helps

I've met the giant blacksmith and was gonna turn my uchigatana into Lightning but it loses its dex scaling. Think I'll keep it +10 for now.

I'm got myself a massive dragon bow now, that those fucking archers were using.  Not tried using it yet but I'm guessing guessing it's going to be too heavy.

And so...  a huge fog wall in a massive Hall patrolled by 2 huge soldier dudes must be the boss.

@crashVoodoo You're right to avoid elemental weapon upgrades, in my experience.

    Fog door, eh? Oh shit.

@robc84 well I'll take him on later tonight.  I've saved it so that I'm fresh. I've fucked off loads of souls trying to upgrade some armour and then realised it turned me into an asthmatic sloth.

    Live and learn!

@EMarkM hah yeah is it worth using that and binning off either the RoSP or the Wolf ring and using this + good armour?

@crashVoodoo Without going into too much detail, as long as the armour you choose is an improvement to your lightning defence, then yes.

Mobility is more important in this fight than anything else, for the way in which I went about it at any rate.

    @EMarkM Lightning defense eh?
Cool, think I'll just go in dance about a bit to learn his pattern and then adapt as required.
