Jagged Ghost Blade is not a half bad dex weapon, especially given the ghosts don't have shields.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

I have to say the great scythe seems like the perfect beginners weapon as it has quite a long range and the.swipe can get you out of a messy situation quite well :) thanks for the heads up
I always though the spears were best for beginners myself as they mean you can turtle up behind the shield and poke shit.

You are a factory of sadness.

Don't think there's a permanent spear on there, but you sometimes get them from the Hollow soldiers as drops. There is definitely a claymore on that bridge though.

I managed to get a demon spear from one of the bat demons tried using it against a silver knight and realised I didn't like spears they have too short a range

@quadfather yeah probably me being an idiot, i had my blood shield in one hand and the spear in another, i think it might have been because it was thrusting and put me too close to its silver knight sword

I've had a few 700+ SL characters invade me who were swiftly taken down and after a few msgs I figured that SL is worth bugger all.

3k health surprisingly doesn't last too long against NG+7 Balder Knights...

Black Phantoms are dead to me, a mere annoyance on my way to area domination.

@Ironlungs76 Congrats ! I wouldn't mind understanding half of what you are going on about but it does sound cool.

I take it Dark Souls is where the PvP action (still) is ? I never played Demons and am enjoying that at the moment but I will eventually get back on to Darks to start the DLC and get in to the PvP. Just hope I don't meet you there.:-P

How's this work exactly? Surely the Balder Knights are relatively weak regardless of your stats? How can they one hit kill the invaders?

Yay I made it through the Sanctuary Guardian and Knight Artorias last night. The damage they do is absolutely ridiculous. Seems to me that every enemy in the DLC does huge damage.

Their patterns were pretty hard for me to figure out, but when I finally did, it turned into a rather enjoyable experience. Often I got them to under 50% health without even realizing but then got killed in one hit...

Great bosses and they were definitely better designed than the main game's bosses. No silly exploits and so on. Later today I might try to finish the DLC.

EDIT: Jesus Christ, Kalameet is hard as hell. I've gotten him down to two last pieces of his life-bar and then he randomly one hit kills me with an attack I've successfully avoided for the whole fight..

And the DLC is now done! Manus was tricky thanks to his spells but other than that I'd say Kalameet and Artorias were harder. I have to say that I loved the whole DLC even though the bosses almost drove me mad.

Had a friend complete the game but he didn't seem to enjoy it. Which is fine, it is a divisive game and I can absolutely understand why people wouldn't like it. But..it is at least a 40 hr game on a first playthrough. Why spend all that time playing something you don't like, to completion even? He said he did it because he felt so aggrevated by the first few hours that he felt obliged to beat it, but he called the whole game a grindfest and that the bosses had the same pattern of circling behind them and attacking. It feels like I want to debate with him about it but I can't!

@Tuffty - I know someone like this. They said that they didn't like it, but constantly talked about the progress everytime I saw him. After some debate, I (and he agreed) surmised that he basically wasn't that good at it, didn't let it 'click' properly and didn't let himself get better at it. I think that he was just stubborn and wanted to be able to say that he'd done it.

Which is a bit stupid really, because he got zero enjoyment out of the whole thing because of the stubbornness getting in the way

some people just want to complete things instead of getting the most out of a game, but hey ho, each to their own I guess
