    @Bauul - Yes... There's specific enemies that were once human (now undead) that you can kill (usually all the enemies in one area) for soft humanity. Once you have gained this you can repeat the process, but you'll need to kill one more enemy for each humanity. So at the burg for example - I think it's 18(?) of the hollows you need to kill before the humanity pops. Then you'll need to kill 19 for another and so on. I don't generally kill the Taurus Demon because the Burg is the easiest place to refill humanity while waiting to be invaded.
    Holy crap I never knew this. I would sometimes notice and see my humanity had gone up by one and just assumed one of my messages had been "upvoted". :D

    @L_Franko Good stuff, congrats! Unfortunately it is still eluding me. Got them down to a sliver a couple of times but last night was just not my night. Basically I have what I need to do, I just need to execute a tad better, but otherwise almost there.

    In any event I ran out of humanity so decided to head back to the Depths to do some farming. Grabbed the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring on the way which helped quite a bit. Popped a few of the first few humanities that dropped so had item discovery around 400. Ended up with about 30 humanity, 5 green shards and even a few titanite shards (think they were large ones, but not sure).

    So, a mixed night all in all :-)

    Cheers man, it took a while for the fight to click but once it did i was in the zone. Pretty much like every boss fight actually :)
    I didn't really go any further with it after that so today I shall pick up from there and find out the next destination. Or go back to asylum. Or maybe do the hollow. Love this game!

    Just finished Asylum as it happens this morning. Most of it was a breeze except for the bastard Stray Demon, who took a few tries to do. Got the peculiar doll as well, so off to the Painted World soon.

    ** Not sure what to spoiler or not :-)

    How do you plan to meet specific people?

    @mcmothercruncher

    Pick an area/location. Agree on a spot to place a summon sign. Try and pick somewhere that might not be so obvious. As an example in Anor Londo, under the stairs, in the small tunnel that leads to a treasure chest and back to the route into the church window. Or in Darkroot when you first enter, straight ahead, to the right back corner behind a tree and some rubble. In the Depths, smash the barrells when you first go in and stick it there. You get the idea :p Let the person know where, then just try and be in the same place. Get them to let you know if nothing has turned up after a few minutes, and then replace it. Rinse and repeat.

    To maximise success for Co-op, use one of the three covenants that boost summoning. So that would be Way of the White, Sunlight Covenant, and the Princess Guard. Aim to be within 15% of each other's SL too. The closer the better really :p

    Would i be ok going to the painted world at level 54 or is the place super bad ass hard? I understand you can't get out unless you finish it?

    It's slightly more challenging than other areas in the game, and you do have to get past a large number of tough enemies before you leave, but the two bosses are both optional. If you haven't got the Lord Vessel yet then I personally wouldn't go just yet, as that will allow you to leave if the place does get too challenging.

    I dont think you can warp out of that place regardless of if you have the Lordvessel or not. Once you are there, the only way back is through it.

    However, its quite doable at SL 54. If you have a decent weapon/spells and armor.

    Infact I would say thats about the recommended level. I went there at 65+ and just wrecked everyone/everything.

    Right. Finished off the gaping dragon. I summoned both Solaire and Lautrec, but I found them to be quite useless. I even checked the wiki to see if I was supposed to guide them or something... Also got invaded for the first time, by some twat that killed me with one shot of his fire magic stuff just before I wanted to go into the boss fight :(
    Anyway, beat the damn thing with my trusty +4 battleaxe and got the key to blighttown. Next thing I did was go the blacksmith and upgrade my axe to +5. Should be enough for one evening. Now I have a couple of days to decide where to go first - blighttown or darkroot. Any suggestions? ;) I'm SL 37 now.

    @Red_Bool Personally I would head to darkroot - there is a lot of interesting things there especially nice gear. Plus at your level you should be OK with the area I would think.

    In other news, killed off Great Grey Wolf Sif on first try! Well chuffed with that, although I felt slightly sad to be honest, it seemed such a magnificent creature!

    Still absolutely loving this game :-)

    @BeheretiK First try? Very impressive! Took me numerous attempts.

    You're right about feeling bad. My other half was very annoyed at me for killing "a lovely doggy"!

    To be fair though I did have a quick look at the wiki before the fight so I knew what to expect. Still, considering that generally it does not help a bit reading up before the time (note: Stray demon still took me many, many tries this morning!!), which is why I was quite pleased. Believe me, that is the one on only boss that has been the case with :-)

    I discovered the Chaos Servant covenant last night. Loving the Great Chaos Fireball even if you only can use it 4 times. I take it that it must be the best covenant to be in if you're a Pyromancer like me? I mean, the white, not so nasty version of Quelaag even reinforces my estus flasks for me, which is dead handy considering the woman back in the Firelink Shrine has been killed. I went back as well and the Pyromancer I saved was in awe lol. I told him where I found it so I guess I'll see him down there from now on. Hopefully I can buy new spells from him too. The only downside to that covenant is that I have to go through Blighttown again if I need to go back.

    I do have a question about that area though that's been bugging me. Just on down a ways from the place it leads to a dead end but I've seen messages saying 'Secret' or 'Need humanity' around it. Does anyone know if there actually is a secret there or are those messages misleading?

    @Tuffty

    The dead end you speak of is simply just a wall. However there is a shortcut to Lost Izalith that you can use when you've reached rank two in the Chaos covenant. That shortcut is in the Demon ruins, which is located under the Chaos covenant area. There is a common misconception that the shortcut door is the one you speak of, in the Chaos covenant area.

    Don't worry about getting back to the covenant by the way, later in the game you get the option to warp to certain locations when using a bonfire, the chaos covenant bonfire is one of those places you can warp to.

    @Tuffty - I ranked up fully in that covenant, it is a pyromancer covenant. continue to level up and it opens a shortcut into a new area. Theres a couple of pyro spells. One you already have, but you get another choas spell if you keep levelling. With the shortcut, it does help abit however its not amazingly necessary. However, by using it, you can save a brothers life.

    Yeh its a riddle. Deal with it. lol. :p

    You've only caused a problem for yourself if you didn't buy Flesh Sweat and Iron Flesh from him... neither of which you *need* but both are very useful to a spell casting build.

    @BeheretiK - cheers! I already had a look in Darkroot before but ran away as fast as my feet could manage :) Right now I feel more confident (and 10 SL higher ;)), plus it makes a nice change of scenery. That's also something I really like about this: there no apparent route to follow. Right now I have 3 options Blighttown, the cemetary with the skeletons and Darkroot. And I still have some parts of the Depths to explore as well the giant rat for instance, how to get to it.

    @Tuffty

    Spoilers as to what happens to him -

    The poor guy goes looking for Pyromancy in the swamp and gets himself killed. So the next time you are in he swamp you see him in his hollow form and he attacks you and you are forced to kill him. You signed his death warrant when you told him where to go. YOU MONSTER! :p

    So, on NG+, I've ploughed through in order to rescue Leah from the ToG. Obligingly, she's popped up inside the church and I've re-bought all the miracles I grabbed from her the first play through.

    Except, I don't have double the uses... I thought you got to buy spells/miracles again and could thereby carry more in successive games?

    After a break I'm back in to this. It's sooo tough though at times. Just got to the Moonlight Butterfly and have idea how I'm going to take it on. I'm a pyromancer with a flimsy bow. I have a drake sword but I doubt that'll do me any good.

    Tell it to the cleaning lady on Monday.

    @Dave_McCoy Pyromancy wont do you much good. Its range is incredibly short. The Drake sword wont do much better.

    Easy way to do it would be to summon Witch Beatrice (her summon sign is hidden in some bushes under the stairs you take up to the boss), stand back and just let her nuke the boss. She can pretty much solo the Moonlight Butterfly, all you have to do is stay alive. :p
