HTC Mozart leaked with specs and short video

    HTC Trophy

Good carrier support, hopefully means some good deals.

Microsoft said on Wednesday that all of the mobile network operators in the UK will offer Windows Phone 7 devices at launch later this year.

Orange, O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile and Three have all committed to offering devices running Windows Phone 7. Windows Phone 7 will also be ranged by UK retailers The Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4u.

Rumoured launch date for Europe is October 21st and US is November 8th.

    Also

Microsoft hosting a press conference on October 11, for a 2PM London press conference (9AM ET for Americans) that will last all the way until 5.30PM.

    Should be the juicy stuff.

That's almost akin to the Saturn launch.

This is gonna be so shit, I wonder if it'll be worse than Zune?

In this context yeah, we normally only indulge in football related banter.

Used Windows Mobile / Zune ever? They're fucking awful in almost every single way.

Bit unfair to write it off, companies have bad products from time to time then redeem themselves with the next version. It's got half a chance at least.

I've used a Zune... it's an excellent music / video player (though not anything else). If you want it to be an iPod you'd be disappointed.

Nope, but this is different to all the other Windows mobiles and it's not like the Zune, it's like the Zune HD which looks pretty fucking sexy to me.

Also anything that adds competition to an apple product is a good thing in my book.

Steve Jobs is the devil you see.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

Looks just as lacking and badly thought out as previous WM OSs tbh.

Yeah competition is great, but you have to make a product that'll at least compete, bodging in Live for the achievement whores ain't gonna save it.

Jobs is worse than the Devil.

The problem is that Android is becoming a low budget OS while the iPhone is still selling much better to the "richer" crowd. So APple makes some good money.

Problem? It worked well for nokia and is the only reason why they are still number 1.
But Froyo update will prevent the fragmentation (which I'm guessing is really what you meant).

Crispy is clearly talking sh*t and I doubt he's used one.
Anyone that's used a ZuneHD and called it a shit media player is either a lair, or a straight up apple mark.

    Will launch with 2,000 apps.

That's a very very good start. I'm upgrading at the end of the month, so it's between the omnia wp7 phone, and the galaxy S. They each have things I want, and lack things I do.

Zune Desktop software updated for Windows Phones

The new Zune software is now fully supported internationality. It brings features such as Smart DJ and Zune Pass access to users in all countries where Windows Phone 7 will be supported. Previously the Zune PC Software was only officially supported in the United States; it has taken Microsoft years to bring the full experience of their entertainment platform to other countries. It is now possible for people to access the “Zune Social” from the software and sign in using their Windows Live ID allowing them to keep track of what their friends are listening too and favourite specific artists and songs.

Marketplace now works for International folk, you can see Windows Phone apps too.

I tried one of these out at Gamescom a month or so ago and thought it was "nice" but had NOTHING on an iphone 3g never mind iPhone4. Yeah, we all want xbox live functionality but they should have released an app for that on iphone - too late now as Apple have their own equivalent.

The only good idea from MS in the mobile space was courier. They should have really pushed that...

Doh, nice publicity for him though :D

The Zune software is ace. Marketplace now pretty much works like you would expect in your region. Even something as simple as movie trailers are slick as fuck, runs so good. Burn in hell iTunes and quicktime.

Yeah, fuck knows what crispy was talking about earlier in the thread. The Zune software and OS are absolutely fantastic.
