Sorry for bump with no news, but I got excited this morning when my wife turned over to her pishy choice of Radio 2, and Alan Partridge was presenting! But after about 30 secs I worked out it was Richard Madely :( If I was a Radio 2 DJ going on holiday, I would demand Partridge covered for me. He would fit in very well.

Last week the commentator for some cricket game sounded exactly like the Day Today's Alan Partridge. With less traction engines. (But with comments almost as asinine).

RT @Aiannucci: Here's Alan Partridge trail on You Tube. A short clip will be up any day now.

RT @Aiannucci To celebrate Alan Partridge's return we'd like to get #SmellMyCheese trending. Is this something you could encourage?

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Yes. Weird. I forgot the http:// and it put the eurogamer site in to the link.

That's HTML links for you. It's like DOS - if you don't put the drive letter in (the protocol name in the case of links) it assumes it's a file relative to the current folder, namely www.eurogamer.net/ in this case. It can't tell a hostname (like www.fostersfunny.co.uk) from a file on the current webserver, and it assumes the latter by default.

It's very good :) Classic Partridge.

"Imagine the streets of Kipling littered with Corpses... Do you ever have dark thoughts?"

"Ever seen a child the size of an OX?"

Yes, it was very good, much better than I'd feared it would be.

    Lovely stuff.

If they ever set another GTA in London they should have Partridge do one of the radio stations.

That would be so so awesome! That literally MUST happen.

And considering R* North (British company) are responsible for the GTA games I think we are overdue a game set in London or somewhere else in Britian. GTA: Milton Keynes, or whatever. I'm sick of New York.

They've done London before, and we've already had The Getaway, so I'd prefer somewhere else in Britain.

    GTA: Wigan

Yeh I know they've done London before, I bought it and completed it. They haven't done it in 3D in the current run of games though.

    GTA: Norfolk

An Alan Partridge XBLA game would be ace.

Free-roaming around the city of Norwich, keeping appointments, etc. It'd be like Shenmue.

When you go to meetings or are doing the radio show, it can have a Mass Effect-esque conversation tree. You're presented with three embarrassing options, and using your knowledge of who you are talking to, you have to pick the worst one for that person, in turn gaining Partridge Points.

When sleeping, you can have dreams where Alan goes on a GTA-style rampage against those on the "BBC gravy train".

And finally, you have to be on your toes at all times because a QTE game where you have to press buttons in time to dance can start any time, if Alan daydreams.
  • Deleted user 5 November 2010 13:18:34
And the aim of the game would be to get a second series of Knowing Me, Knowing You, of course.
  • Deleted user 5 November 2010 13:22:58
    Heh, that sounds awesome.

I hope the game has this escape mission too.
