    not keen on the name, tbh. it smells faintly of some guy in a suit worrying that idiots might not work out its the sequel to the first one, so they have to shove "arkham" in there somewhere.

    gotham city would have been fine.

    i buy batman comics regularly, and i'd still think it was a bad title if a comic popped up with that name. it also puts them in a bit of a corner, name wise - if a third game came out down the line, would they now have to resort to sticking "arkham" in each title? and throwing in a maximum security prison?

    This is Batman, not the Lovecraft mythos. Arkham is just the asylum not the city.

    So I'll moan.

    Part 3 will be called Arkham County

    I think we should all just assume and accept that the fact that the word 'Arkham' is in the title is essentially just a coincidence of the story, and all get on with our lives.

    I assumed the title was because the inmates were running free in Gotham and therefore turned the whole city into the asylum itself?

    The only reason for moaning is if Rocksteady were dumb enough to think that Arkham is a city, or that their fanbase wouldn't care if they retconned some shit.

    It's clearly neither of these things.

    No. You're all wrong. Arkham City is the name for a new prison within Gotham. It's like District 9, but within the city, and for mental people, not aliens.

    Now can we all stop fucking talking about it.

    It's so casual gamers connect this new Batman game with Batman: Arkham Asylum, not say Lego Batman or the games based on Batman the animated series or the movies.

    Anyway back to what matters...

    The GI covers do look very cool, I'm not sure if Catwoman's going to be a co-op character or just one of the main antagonists? I hope there's no co-op or at least it's seperate from the main game. I think Bats is at his best when he's alone against Gotham's villians.
