I can't seem to find out where this vote took place... or even who voted... but it kind of makes you feel a little more hatred towards your fellow British population doesn't it?...

Probably a poll created by their PR people to drum up publicity.

    Shit - they've knocked Ant & Dec off #1? Where's the justice?

This post is unsuitable for those with a high rumour-sensitivity.

Although their sketch show was critically panned, James Corden and Mat Horne topped a poll run by the online TV service seesaw.com, which attracted 3,000 responses.
Ha ha, headline from Chortle.co.uk - Horne and Corden named comedy's best double act (by idiots)

  • Deleted user 1 August 2010 21:11:23
    somehow appropriate
  • Deleted user 1 August 2010 21:14:03
Everyone knows the real greatest double act is Cannon and Ball.

That sketch show they did on BBC3 was fucking dire.
Andy Peters and Ed the duck was a better comedy duo.
I blame Barack Obama for this mess were in.

You all appear to be overlooking the true winners of the best comedy duo ever, Phillip Schofield & Gordon the Gopher.

I dont mind Corden in small doses but Horne is just shit, he cant act at all and has a dreary annoying voice.

I'm quite pleased to discover all I have to do to be voted as part of the greatest comedy duo is find a fat friend willing to point out his obesity and begin dancing. I guess I'd have to point at his stomach or something while he does.

It's not really their fault, you know. Deep down I am sure they realise that they are just not very talented and weren't remotely ready to have a series, but some hateful dribble of pus in the commissioning department offered them money to do a series - what are they going to say, "thanks for the offer, but we're just not ready for a series. Keep the money"?

Also it is not their fault that the viewing public is largely made up of idiots.

    oh, sorry, I meant:

HA HA! THE FAT ONE IS FAT!

I thought Gavin and Stacy was funny. But you can count that as a vote for Rob Brydon.

It says much more about the user-base of the website that ran the poll than anything else. Considering H&C's viewing figures, I can't see how this is damning to the taste of the public as a whole as it's pretty clear that if you actually sampled correctly then most people would never have even seen the show.

Ruth Jones, Alison Steadman, Rob Brydon, Larry Lamb - there are plenty of reasons to like Gavin and Stacey which have little to do with Horne or Cordon.

Edit: @elstoof We don't do duvets

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

    This.

Shame they got shafted off kids tv for being too 'edgy'. They were often the highlight of my Saturday mornings.

Also, no one should besmirch the names of the Chuckle Bros by mentioning them in the same breathe as Horne and Corden.

I could happily punch Corden all day long

I'm hoping the IP addresses collated from that poll will be used for a mass culling.
