Finally, it looks like a hitman game.

Faith coming back like health in a modern FPS.

The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.

Or, in all likelihood, the health of Hitman in the new Hitman.

    FINALLY!

That's done a lot to put my mind at rest, we start seeing Hitman better than that cop level. I was reading you can also turn off all that new stuff like xray eyes with something called purist mode. Graphically it's stunning, but then Hitman always is a looker.

Happy to eat my words if this does turn out great, gamplaywise things are looking up at last and less linear...but...PVC nuns.... still not entirely sure what to expect from this

Hitman has never been a looker. It's always had a consistent look but it's never looked impressive.

    Until now.

I dunno Blood Money looked pretty good when it came out, especially the crowds.

One thing I wish they'd bring back from the original Hitman is the way you could mix n match dual wielded guns, if your left hand was free you could just pick up whatever and start shooting it regardless of what you had in your right hand. Also you could make bullet hole in people, that wass cool.

They had a lot of basic repeated models. It was crowded but I don't think it actually looked impressive.

I watched it on my phone so it looked fucking great.

Did get a bad feeling about the game but after the gameplay trailer, its looking like hitman game and faith restored. IO have handled the promotion of the game badly up to now, they made it look like some dumb cover based shooter. Not surprising the reaction of the fans of the game tbh.

Come on, if you're promoting a game using short gameplay clips/trailers, you want to make it look as exciting as possible. Clips showing slow, methodical gameplay don't work so well in that scenario.

I think calling it dumb is a bit harsh too.

There is fine line between making it look exciting and making it look dumb drivel like the "latex nuns" promo. They might as well had Agent 47 with chain guns for arms shooting entire armies. (sure some gamers would love that)

It's about being representative of the game which, hopefully, the cover shooting, nun shanking trailers weren't.

I disagree, I've always loved the graphics on Hitman games they've always been detailed games. Sure dated now but still great. I got Blood Money installed at the mo and the detail is wicked.

I just watched Spy Hard and in that Steele throws cups of PISS at a nun and then crushes her head.

Is it an overtly sexualized nun?

One of the singing ones was, with her garter belt...then there was another sexualised nun in the cross-dressing fashion. I think they covered a good range of fetishes.

Very encouraging actually. Not the "speed Hitman" I was afraid it might be. Looks more or less like every other game really. Good stuff.

    Thanks :)

So excited for this. I might pre-order. Only thing putting me off is the pre-order incentives seem to be all about heavy weapons like assault rifles, which are useless if you play Hitman "properly".

HATE the button icons plastered everywhere on the gameworld in that footage, seeing that so much in games these days and it's really really shit, at least let non-stupid people turn 'em off FFS :(

EDIT - scrub that, it's been pointed out to me I missed the bit where the guy says it can all be turned off  Thank god!

Thought it looked great! A bit hand-holdy, though.

It is getting ridiculous. They're getting bigger and bigger as well. There's no reason to tell me what button opens doors at every single door if it's always the same button.

Yeah, and instead of a Y over every usable object, just have a little halo around the object. I can remember to press Y. That and the B for dropping a dead guy got in the way too much.

Went a bit mark and execute there but looks okay, levels seem quite large at least.

Yeah I just don't get it what happened to reading a manual or playing a tutorial to learn controls? on screen ruins immersion clutters up the screen, but then I suppose it's part of the masterplan to make gaming a mass market hobby where you don't need to use your brain at all, see modern Hollywood for where gaming has gone. Brain dead focus tested shite :(

IO have thankfully at least given us the option to turn that crap off, like I said I just wish more would do that.
