Those videos have given me a right chubby for this game. I don't think I can hold on until Christmas to play it!

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

I want this game. Looks great.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise half of them are stupider than that

That looks great, with Sonic that's 2 good 2D platformers in the space of a fortnight.

The trailer does look good! Quite zoomed-out camera in comparison to the SNES original. Might be easier to play.

So, this leaked last night and various forums are full of praise for it. Going from the comments it appears to be very challenging so if you found NSMB tricky, jog on.

    Awesome, can't wait.

Which studio developed this? In-house at Nintendo or someone else?

I have this on preorder but don't think I can resist getting to play it tonight. Nintendo games excite me. :)

NSMB was tough but it wasnt the platforming itself that made it tough, it was hard mostly because you couldnt save whenever you wanted until you beat the game once (retarded decision) and running across a game over screen could send you back 3-4 levels easily. If you finished the game and farmed 2-5 for unlimited lives it really wasnt that hard.

Anyway saw some screenshots of this running on Dolphin over at GAF it certainly looks stunning.

I think I might give the PC emulator a go.

I found NSMB pretty easy, certainly compared to the old school SMW's.

Crikey, this is good. Looks and sounds great, it's trickier than NSMB and there's lots of hidden things to find should you want to 100% it. However, I expect there will be more than one comment on these here pages whining, bleating and generally griping about the amount of waggle involved and why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh WHY can't we use alternative controllers. Well, you can't, so just shut up and play.

All slight remixes of the classic DKC music, including the one in that link.

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

The music was suitably jolly although I've probably heard about 2% of it so I can't really comment although I'd wager no matter how good it is, it won't be as good as the original tunes for some people.

The only games that come close to DKC in terms of jolly foot-tapping tunes are Mario games imo.

Played it with the remote and nunchuck last night, it works better for me. Finished world 1 but missed loads of collectables which I think you need to open up bonus stages at some point. Waggle to roll is fine, can be chained together quite easily with a bit of timing. The one thing that should have been ditched is blowing on the dandelions to reveal items, it really interrupts the flow to keep having to stop and do this. Other than that minor quibble, splendid stuff all round.

By the way, it seems if you are able to use Ocarina, it is now possible to map waggle to a button press on the remote. Some enterprising folks are working on getting the CC going too.

But we all know that the future Wii with HD won't sprinkle HD magic on the current Wii's SD games. Nintendo only ever do hardware emulation or throw it all out and start again.

Hopefully they will do more than that. I mean if a mid range PC right now can emulate and upscale almost the entire Wii catalog then it shouldnt be too hard for Nintendo to do the same.

Unless you have seen NSMB wii running in HD you have no idea how gorgeous it looks.

Classic controller is now supported, just in time for the PAL release.
