I agree the dialogue and voice acting are absolutely abysmal and embarassing but the game seems quite good so far.|
Hopefully the cutscenes and voice over interludes are much less frequent later on.

The voice acting is brilliant by the standard of XBLA games, and the art style reminds me of
This is a GOOD thing people.

Is this 1200 points? If so I think I will be tapping up the joint account tonight
Yep, it's 1200. I expect it'll be a regular feature in sales over the coming year, but I'm perfectly happy to pay full-whack for a game I enjoy this much.
Thanks mate. I am going to download this straight after work
Coming straight from guardian heroes I thought the trial was pretty terrible. Nice visuals but otherwise no.

Heh just found Super Meat Boy in a hidden chest.
I got the trial: really liked the combat and things, but the characters put me off a bit. I'm not quite as angry as LB, but Dust reminded me of a guy from school: a romantic/goth, who thought that because he exhibited his emotional depths he was somehow in possession of both greater knowledge and greater 'honesty' than anyone else, when in fact he was just an arrogant idiot who wrote the most excruciatingly sexual poetry (flames, swords, the apocalypse in an orgasm, etc) and read it out in English.
Totally unfair, but it put me off buying it at 1200.
Stupid, I admit. But that and the voices didn't sway me. Will give it another shot.
I've just been reading the text, skipping the voice acting and its fine.

The art style was the first thing I was drawn to, quite different to most things out there. Surprised to see so many people hating on it.
I can see why people might find the voice acting annoying though, fortunately it's totally skipable. I don't mind it though and I'm liking Fidget's occasional 4th wall breaking.
So far I'd say it's well worth a tenner.
LeoliansBro wrote:What are you on about, played the trial and there is nothing sexual in there at all. You must have a bit of a sick mind to he honest.
Right, having slept on it and tempered my initial thoughts on this game with time and reflection, here's where I've got to:
What the fuck is this Weeaboo Japfag Furry bullshit on my Xbox!
If you don't see anything sexual in the animals, ask why your (mysterious, cool, high-school aged heroic alternate persona which would totally be you if you only lived in feudal pretend-Japan in a world of rabbits) character is so hot under the collar that a girl ignored him. Ask why the blacksmith flirted with him and then your sassy spunky female sidekick (that you'll always be more friends with even though she's totally hot and tons of guys want to bang her and she's probably asked but you said no) teased you about it.
It's Persona-level wish fulfilment for awkward adolescents who are still years away from fucking some whale's bellybutton and skipping home thrilled that finally they hawd real sex with a girl. But with rabbits. You get to be this amazing brave (rabbit) hero who is special (just like you always knew you were!) with an entire (rabbit) village in his debt trying to win the affections of any one of a number of (rabbit) girls while accompanied by a fucking Powerpuff girl ginger catratbat modelled on thw worst excesses of the Shrek Puss-in-Boots cute face.
Combat system is fine in a Conan sort of way.
To be honest, I didn't perceive anything 'sexual' or 'emo' about it either. It just looked and sounded like a kids cartoon and I judged it as such.
Perhaps the mistake is that some people are approaching this like it's a game specifically for adults whereas I always figured it was family-friendly fare.
The way Leo described it I was expecting the helper to have three breasts of something. It's just a furry animal who has big eyes. None of the enemies, none of the dialogue.
It's no more sexual than Sonic the Hedgehog. And nobody ever thought about shagging Tails, did they?

UKR probably did
Had another go at the trial on Tough and it's definitely a more considered game as a result. What's stopping me from taking the plunge is CS:GOs imminent release.

How much is cs?
I think it's 1200pts. I don't know what you get for your dollar though or whether there are any additional payments for maps etc....
As it's by Valve I'm assuming/hoping 1200pts is all you pay.
Anyway, Dust. It shall stay on my Harddrive at least. It's something I'll probably buy at a later date. The mechanics are enjoyable, very Dishwasher like in the combat and I don't find the aesthetic all that repulsive. Not to my taste sure but I'm not getting all this furry hatred. Back in the nineties almost everything was a talking animal and noone made a sexual link to it. Apart from maybe Gex, he was quite obviously a deviant.
Getting CS:GO on consoles is missing the entire point of the game.
What, in my blindly obvious statement, do you want clarifying?
What is the entire point?
Yes it was obvious. My question was more out of exasperation. You're obviously one of those pc elitists.
By playing the game on console I will still be very much privy to the point of the game, which is shooting people with imaginary guns. I have no problems doing the same with all other Valve games I enjoy on console.

Why are you discussing this shit in the Dust thread?
I mentioned CS GO as a reason for not buying this yet.
That incited some flagrant fanboyism.
Didn't mean to deviate off topic but it irked me.
