Take a look, at this impressive looking game the trailer of which debuted during the GTTV pre-show, that preceded the Microsoft briefing.

edit: silly GT, that should be Elysian Tail, as in mice and such. You can see details on the property, through the link.
Meticulously hand-animated and painted, this episode of Elysian Tail welcomes exploration, platforming, and above all else, mastery of a fighting system that rewards skilled gamers.

Casual and younger players will appreciate options tailored to allow them to enjoy the narrative without frustration, while seasoned players will enjoy collection, a deep combo and experience system, and increasingly challenging encounters.

2 years since my reply and it was years before that when I first saw it. Crazy.

I think there's going to be a lot more interested people in five hours time.

Is that when the reviews hit?

Fixed the thread title, incidentally. "Tail" it is!

Seems 5pm's arrived a little early in some parts! :D

Edit: And it got taken down. And it's spoilery, so don't read it anyway. And LOOK BEHIND YOU - A THREE HEADED MONKEY!

    DON'T READ THAT REVIEW.

It has spoilers. Not plot spoilers, but spoilers that will genuinely make your experience worse.

I'm gonna collate the "safe" reviews on GAF, so if you want your experience unspoiled (and I 100% recommend it) then keep an eye on the Dust thread there.

I guess those link tags don't work here. Oh well, you can pretty much work them out!

Noticed this in the IGN review

. It'll take most players 12-15 hours to roll the credits while doing a minimum of exploration and backtracking, while completionists who want to 100% every area can easily push past the 20-hour mark, lending Dust: An Elysian Tail immense value for its $15 price tag.

To be fair, this compares to three hours of Deadlight for the same price, and Dust is a better game as well.

Yeah this seems more like it. It appears that Dust: An Elysian Tail will be the highlight of this years Summer of Arcade. It's been in development for so long so I expect it to be polished, in many ways it reminds me of Muramasa The Demon Blade, but it certainly looks like being one of the best XBLA games this year and it's reassuring to see the reviews reflect that.

How hard is it? I'm not really looking for a challenge, I just want to admire the scenery.

Any information on how deep the RPG elements are? Is it just a case of gathering XP, auto-levelling, and picking up loot, or are there things like skill trees, branching paths, etc?
