Has anyone here ever had their photos printed on canvas. Theres a few of my own Im thinking of putting on canvas but I was wondering if it was worth it or even if theyre any good.

They're not to my personal taste. Why put a photo on a canvas? Why make it look like a painting?

Fair do's if you like the affect, but I just don't get it.

I think it's a good idea if the picture's right. You're not going to do it with a photo of a car or something, but a flower/sunset etc might look pretty good.

I remember tt linking to some merchant on eBay that did huge canvas prints pretty reasonably, but I can't remember the name of it :/

A colour photo I took in San Francisco on an old APS camera in widescreen mode was given to a print2canvas company. I asked for it to be converted to B&W and printed on a 6ft x 2ft canvas.

Crap photo, but was pretty chuffed with the results. I personally like unique things, as opposed to just buying any old print from Ikea/Habitat etc..

I think canvas prints look great, but are at their best when big. I've got two of my photos printed on canvas at 30" by 20" (for all of £24 each! from The Time Man on ebay) and they look great.

Obviously up close they won't look as good as printing out as a poster or something, but when hung on a wall and looked at from over 1m away they look fantastic. I'm also a big fan of the way they slightly jut out from the wall, whilst also being flush with it.

They don't look at all like paintings.

I couldn't figure out why you had a photo of your dining room stuck on canvas .... :)

I still think they look a bit naff and tacky myself, but like I say, it's a taste thing.

I don't think there is a high enough res version via google, but the guys at RPF do a few maps including the one your after. http://www.therpf.com/

If you are inclined to join they are friendly bunch and there are a number of threads specifically for the time bandits maps so there may be a high quality image on someones drive, if you befriend the right person.

It's a fair bit to spring for but from what I read, he's put a load of work into it. I guess the devil is in the detail, he said the finished image was almost 2Gb! More info. Will a screenshot be high enough res? Good luck with it, anyway.

I've always wanted one myself, since I first saw the film as a kid. Maybe I'll start saving £2 coins for one.

For a massive print you need much more than that.

Thats about 2mp you need a hell of a lot more than that.

At least 10,000xwhatever for the detail on it.

I can't help you with the actual image, but in terms of what to print it on - Have you looked into printing onto foamex? It's compressed pvc or something, there's a company in maidenhead who did this for my bathroom. I can't tell you the res but that's 2 metres by 1 metre, cost me £90 ish and another £30 to have it delivered. It's 5mm thick, light as a feather, and very durable.

It was Evans Graphics who did mine, but no doubt there will be someone more local to you

You would be great at a trial:

    OBJECTION!
