Please God don't be an MMO.

I second Lexx's sentiment. I'd buy a single player new ES in a heartbeat.

    @edit, alright - third

I'd buy it whether it was an MMO or not considering how much I loved Oblivion.

Yeah I agree with the MMO sentiments. Single player = instapurchase and maybe even book a day off work for it. MMO = fack off.

MMO would kill it though. All the atmosphere and sense of place would be ruined by perpetual online dickery.

They'd also have to change the game's mechanic to avoid any game breaking issues - which ES games tend to have a lot of.

The only way I could imagine an online Elder Scrolls working, is maybe an optional 4 player co-op like in Borderlands.

Where you can team up with a few of your mates to do harder versions of the same dungeons you can do on your own.

Hopefully they'll make the wilderness interesting like Fallout 3 rather the bland-o-rama of Oblivion.

Where was the last rumours saying it was set? Skyrim? Vikings and snow could be fun.

You're kidding right? Morrowinds wilderness was populated by thousands of Cliffracers and people nailed to the floor.

I'm on about things to do other than "Oh look, a giant mushroom, how strange"

    You hear me? DEAD.

Hmm, I liked Fallout 3, but I found Oblivion to be a much richer world which was far more absorbing to get lost in (not least due to the lack of invisible walls).

How the hell does anyone find the time to invest in these games?

I can only find the time to post about them in their threads...

I enjoyed Oblivion and fallout3 (and morrowind, come to that) on different levels. If they could take the best from all three and make them a shining, glorious, SINGLE PLAYER YOU CUNTS game, I would love them for all time.

I booked a week off work and spent it holidaying in the capital wastelands. I sent my line manager a postcard of my avatar standing outside the Nuka Cola factory with Abe Lincoln's hat on.

I spent ages exploring that bland-o-rama. Still they were simple times and we were simple folk back then.

Somewhere around the 50th oblivion gate/cookie cutter dungeon with magic battery for my fireball shooting pimp cane/opulently glass covered highway man I felt why bother and fast travelled everywhere.

If I saw something on the horizon in fallout there was a good bet there'd be some depressing back story to delve into.

Not that I didn't like Oblivion, I really enjoyed it, not as much as Morrowind though.

Bethesda's a publisher as well as a developer, just because they say they have a "secret" planned for E3 doesn't mean it'll be one of their own "in-house" games.

Could be Doom IV just as easily. Or Quake V.

Needs to be more like Morrowind. It needs to be hard. Needs an in depth crafting system. It needs something really big to kill and I want my own boat.

Nord boats sailing across the sea to pillage shrines and churches would be fun.

It needs to be way more RPG than Oblivion. Also, no fracking scalable difficulty. They ruined Oblivion by removing all sense of accomplishment.
