So much for sportsmanship from Krul. Hope the Argies batter them.

So you Poms don't want Holland to win it because then they would have as many World Cups as England?

Great news for Ashley, Krul's price tag just increased.

Wanted Costa Rica to win it but the Toon fan in me is over the moon for Tim.

Out of the teams left I'd rather the Germans win it

Alright enough tears for CR. I had hoped Navas would have at least saved one...

You could also see from Ruiz's eyes, he wouldn't score, too quick to get it done. Whereas others took their time, spent more time looking at goal, had a quick think, then did it.

I wonder how much match-fixing and referee bias FIFA can get in before Tuesday's Brazil v Germany.

    Neymar out. Silva out.

Fredlol, Marcelol, Hulkolol vs Neuer, Schweinsteiger, Müller, Boateng.

He may be a tactical genius now but we all know United fans will be calling LVG clueless the first time he drops Kagawa.

I know the knockout stages have not lived up to the excitement of the group stages, but few could have hoped for a better semi-final lineup. Just a shame about Neymar and Di Maria.

    Holland vs Germany final.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Brazil and argentina have been shit, and holland have lost their form of the first few games. Germany are germany.

Damn that sorcerer! Twenty gold pieces and I’m wankered on Rohypnol.

Seems like a tactical genius would have won in 90 minutes and not brought on huntelaar like an hour too late

I was convinced Kuyt was going to miss his pen after all his poor crossing throughout the game.

He could have done, it just wasn't part of the plan.

I hope so. Other two have coasted to the semis.

I fear FIFA really want an all-Latin America final though....

@Max_Powers Krul is a knob, and i don't think i can take part-time Utd fans wanking over the 2nd coming that is Van Gaal.

LOL @ the enthusiasm over van Gaal's substitution "genius". I guess statistics aren't a part of the footie pundit curriculum.

All four teams have rode their luck at some stage though. Besides, you may feel differently after the actual SF matches.

Oh yes. I don't get the moaning about the Dutch & Robben. They all played well and he did little diving this game.

I'm rather hoping to see them repeat their Spain performance against Argentina.

Undoubtedly, but Brazil's progression has taken luck and a helping hand, while Argentina have been mediocre/poor + Messi, with barely a glimmer that they're actually a great team. Holland and Germany are both flawed but have occasionally looked great.

Definitely no outstanding team this WC though, need two consecutive, scintillating displays from the ultimate victor for any one team to come close to that accolade.

Perhaps no outstanding teams as such, but the tournament as a whole has been stunning. So much excitement and teams playing without fear. Bound do get a lot more tight now.

Just a bit saddened that pretty much every team who got through the group stages put England to shame. FFS, the only thing I can remember about the England team us those shitty Subway ads and Joe Heart's hair product shit, which I really can't remember at all. Honest :-)

I see what you're saying, but what the Netherlands did to the Spanish will probably remain my outstanding memory from the WC, with that VP diving header being the outstanding image (and setting the exciting tone for the tournament). They may not have hit that level of brilliance since, but they've remained good.

Dunno how they'll contain Messi (kicking him, I'll guess) but I can see them ripping through the Argentinians. Two cracking games coming up, I'm sure of it.

That's good. If you were to remember how they played, you'd be a sad chap.

I even think Chiles has forgotten about England, thank god.

Oh yeah, been a great WC, by outstanding I meant one team to rule them all.

Plus, although there has been the usual diving theatrics from most teams, not nearly as bad as some tourneys past.

Without reading anything, I must say we struggled, but we deserved the win. Costa Rica should be proud thought, if other teams would put in as much effort we would have a much closer world cup. Dutch penalties were perfect.
