The subscription stacks, so by adding the code now just puts another 12months on the end of your existing sub.

Rising is perhaps my GOTY. Like all Platinum games, it revels in being a game first, with mechanics that reveal more depth, the more time you put into it. Also, has the best last boss fight in a long time. Thinking about it now puts a smile on my face haha

I (finally) beat the last boss in Giana Sisters. Good lord that was tough, was stuck on it for hours. You know what's funny though, I took a look at the achievement tracking for this on Raptr and Steam, and the achievement you get to beat this boss i.e. to beat the game, is at 2.54% and 2.3% respectively. So a massive number of people that bought the game didn't actually finish it! That's crazy. At least I know I'm not the only one who found it hard!

Tbh I think a massive number or players don't finish most games they buy. I have plenty of friends who haven't finished a game in years. They play through till they get bored or something new and shiny catches their eye.

The new games are up if you go to their respective game pages.

19GB for MGR and only 6gb for Remember Me.

MGR is really, really good. It's no Bayonetta, but then, what is?

    Looks properly gorgeous too.

Played it to death on the 360, but loved it that much I might just set the 19gb aside on the HDD just to have it on there for the sake of it.

You mean the 38gb? ;-) The joys of Sony efficiency.

I know, a classy example of game splicing. I'm going to buy the 2 dlc chapters I think.

I appreciate PSN+ selected types of games.
    but MGR sucks!
bad camera, trash controls and the script dialogue sucks.
the only thing I like were the cutscenes.

only played till helicopter battle and had enough. the game is not done right.

Remember Me was alright at least, but got shallow and plain boring half way. Almost felt like I was playing Enslaved:/
Music was amazing. Story was good and solid.

i'm gonna have to wait next month for next selected games -___-

I really like Remember Me and it seeming like Enslaved is a massive compliment! :)

    Portable view - Never forget.

yea you just need to start the download and cancel it and they'll be on your list for all times, even if your subscription lapses and you join again later.

You dont even need to start the download, so long as you go through the purchase process. Easiest way is just to snag is all at once on the day it updated from the website, rather than through a PS3/Vita.
  • Deleted user 5 November 2013 19:04:30
Ok thank you, yup they are all in my download list. ta:)
  • Deleted user 5 November 2013 19:30:10
Also a quick second question, when my sub renews, does it renew the sub i have (1 month) or will it choose the 90 day or year sub? i couldn't really find an answer skimming through the T&C's

    1) downloads 19gb Metal Gear Rising
    2) Installs 19gb of Metal Gear Rising over the course of a million years
    3) start game
    4) please install this 401mb patch

Seriously? 401 FUCKING MEGABYTES on top of a 19gb installation? Jesus christ.

    The bane of the PS3.

Sometimes I've wanted a quick blast of a new game before going to bed, I boot it up, get hit with a 1gb download or something, then just cancel and switch the fucking thing off.

I like the PS3 but jesus the huge mandatory patches are a pain in the arse. They should let you play the game anyway, and only have to update for multiplayer.

I had to watch my friend endure the infamous Gran Turismo 5 installation.

... that put me off buying a PlayStation 3 for another eighteen months!

Quite glad I did in the end though.

It's really quite mad. I've actually loaded old 8bit games FROM TAPE in less time than it's taken the PS3 to install games, let alone THEN (WHY ONLY THEN, FFS) patch them ready for play.

At least 8bits had more going on - flashing borders, loading sounds / music, games - while you're waiting than the PS3's progress bars.

You can play on offline without patching? Just press circle? It'll auto sign you out.

You can but you have to do it at some point, so you may as well get it out of the way.

This is so odd that I was thinking about this the day before yesterday about how it would load an image on my Amstrad CPC 464 (FTW OMG!!11) and it would do a line then a gap and then a line etc. going back to the top and repeating until the image was displayed.

    Ah, those were the days...

I can see that MGR is very good but, given that my backlog includes a half-played copy of Bayonetta on the 360, the hard disk space on the PS3 is worth more to me at the moment. God knows how big the files will be on the PS4, I reckon the 500GB hard disk will start to feel very small very quickly. Wondering if it wouldn't be worth buying a 1 or 2TB drive alongside it and installing it before even switching the thing on.

I love PS+, but it's given me a whole new raft of first-world problems around games backlogs and storage capacities! Never thought I'd download a 19GB game and delete it on the same day (luckily, internet speeds are pretty decent where I live).
