With the current deal of an extra 3 months when you buy a years subscription, I'm tempted to do so but with the PS4 due out within that time frame I'm not sure it'll be worth it. I know it's been confirmed that the PS4 will have PS+ in some form but have they stated whether or not you're membership will be crossing over?

Same here - I haven't bought a console at launch yet and I'm not about to start.

It almost certainly will. You're more likely to buy one if you keep getting PS4 games for free each month in your download list.

I'm just hoping they continue to support PS3 PS plus after the PS4 comes out as I have no intention of buying for at least a year after launch.
I would imagine they will. It makes sense from a business-perspective, which I reckon PS Plus is all about (locking you into their platform).

    a. It'll get cheaper to put the games on sale as they age.
    b. They are likely still looking to make money back from their initial losses on PS3.
    c. There'll be a natural move towards PS4 by developers, which will make the transition smoother than if Sony were to cut the supply and risk unhappy customers. Once the PS4 is released Sony's primary objective for PS3 owners should be to maintain their happiness and loyalty so they'll stay with PlayStation when / if they do choose to upgrade.
    d. I reckon Sony understands that in this day and age they are the "gamers' best friend" because MicroSoft have so clearly distanced themselves from this position. Gamers are the ones that'll keep the PS3 around even after they buy the PS4.

Plus is almost too good. There's no way I can keep up with the amount of games that are being thrown out there. I didn't even download Joe Danger this month, I just don't have the time!

Totally agree - the value is phenomenal, and I don't even download games I'll never play! Over the past 8 months I've downloaded something like 600 of 'free games' at no cost, other than the original 30 subscription.

How anyone could seriously gripe about PS+ (especially when you compare it to what Live offers for similar money) is beyond me.

EG have sent me two PMs in the last couple of days telling me how much I'm missing out by not having a PS3. As a Vita owner with a PS+, I'm tempted enough as it is.

@Flying_Pig Brand loyalty? I always thought paying for Live was a swizz personally.

Yeah, I got them too. They really should target their advertising better. Especially as they're advertising it with really old games (Uncharted 2, wtf?).

I think they're targeting them perfectly actually, almost like they're reading my mind. Especially since Uncharted 2 is one of the few games I want to play on it. :)

I may just bite if that (or Ico) pops up on PSN.

    Uncharted 2 is on PSN.

Edit: and so is Uncharted 1. You should really start with that.

I meant if they ever come up on IGC for PS+, so I can effectively play them for free. :)

Jim Sterling had a really good rant about the benefits of PS+ over Live.

    Yes, but so am I!

All jokes aside, it's not the cost of the games or the console that bothers me - it's just that I've got too many games to play as it is, I'd rather not buy a new console. And there seems to be a lot of negativity surrounding the console itself - constant updates, slow download times etc. That's why I didn't bite when it was really cheap before Christmas.

I'm keeping an eye on The Last of Us though, and I guess a Blu-Ray player could come in handy. I didn't get the PS2 until 2007, and only really for two games, so I guess it's never too late.

At least with PS+ it downloads all updates for you and they are not frequent anymore.

Plus is so good the only downside is it can only get worse in the future.

Hitman Absolution being added to PS+ on the 1st of May and 'declasified' sale starts today
    Link.

I bought Hitman on steam last week and have hardly played it since I didn't really get on with it. Mildly annoying :p

I think he means in the sense that it's almost too good value right now, so Sony may just find a way to gimp the service. :)

Yeah, we all hope it doesn't but it's so good right now that I don't think it can be any better.
