3D gaming : yes or no?

I've noticed lots of people stating that they have no interest in 3D TV and I'm curious as to why this is?
I'm assuming it's because the "HD generation" is still relativley new and people don't want to spend yet more money on new equipment?.
My assumption is though , even though we will be forced to buy 3D TV sets, our existing hardware will all receive upgrades (like the PS3) which will allow 3D to be compatible with it?
Anyone who has played a game in 3D or watched a football game in 3D will realise how impressive and exciting it is.
My 3D experience is limited : I have seen Avatar in a 3D IMAX, I have watched two football games in 3D and I purchased the GOTY Batman : AA and they have all impressed me (some more than others!).
I think too many people still think of 3D as a gimmick that started in the 80's when the technology wasn't there to support it. Today, in 2010, we ARE ready for 3D and I am currently in the process of putting money together for my 3D upgrade - happy days.

YES. I'm still on an old flatscreen SDTV - when I buy a HDTV I will look for one with 3D.

Actually, after seeing a demo in a sony store, I'd say a tentative yes.

If I don't have to wear glasses I don't mind. If I do then I'm not interested.

No. It'll be too expensive and gimmicky for the first few years.
3DS: more likely to get into that in 2011 than the whole big telly thing.

Yeah, I also can't see 3D so I can ignore all the fuss and concentrate on gameplay/story. I'm not bitter.

Argh! It's so frustrating! Don't just say 'no'. Give reasons! "No, the cost/utility ratio is too high". "No, it kills my eyes." "No, I wear glasses and this leaves me behind" "No, the tech is inferior to xxxxxx" "No, it doesn't look good enough" "No, wearing cheap glasses mars my ultracool persona" etc.

    Is it so hard?

I am interested in it but not enough to buy a new TV interested. I just bought a nice 1080p TV set about 6 months back and plan for that to last me at least 5 years. My prior TV set actually lasted me over 10 years.

Apart from my TV purchasing schedule I really don't believe there will be the non gaming content available to justify 3D for years yet. Buying into 3D at this stage is just going to cost you a big premium for a TV that will in all likelihood be superseded by something far better before 3D even starts to hit the big time. Far better to way and see for the moment.

Personally I think we are actually 10 years off of seeing 3D as big thing in the home.

3D is always coming and going. And the sooner it goes this time the better.

Yes, I like 3D. It's the pricey specs that hurt most of the time, but I like anaglyph. I use iZ3D drivers on my PC that render pretty much any game I play 3D (except UK Truck Simulator, if that helps anyone).

Iím another where 3D doesnít work with my current set of eyes. Well, the coloured/polarised glasses donít work anyway. Not sure about the ones that use Ďshutterí glasses or the tech where you donít use glasses at all. That I would be interested in seeing, but itís not something Iím gagging for simply because I donít think it would improve games that much.

I don't see what the big deal is. It's still TV or a movie or a game - 3D makes it no better. We've had 3D for as long as I can remember... not sure why I'm supposed to suddenly care so much about it now.

I don't remember anyone ever clamouring for it when movies weren't being made in 3D. We get Avatar in 3D and suddenly I'm not supposed to be able to live without it? HAHA! This is the TV makers telling us what we want, rather than us telling them.

    Well, I do not want.
