Bayern aren't just goal machines but ridiculously difficult to even had shots against, let alone score. You're lucky even if you get near their goal.

Remember that Arsenal Barca game where Van Persie got a second yellow for having a shot after the whistle had gone? That was their only shot in the game. And Pep has ramped up that part of their game even more at Bayern, and that Arsenal team were far deadlier on the attack than United are.

So yeah, good luck with that scoring thing.

Changed my mind in light of Kalel's post 9-1 to Man Utd.

    :p

Actually, what is the record victory margin in the Champions League knock out phase?

    8-0 Liverpool Vs Beşiktaş 2007-2008

That's a group stage match but it's the record margin in a champions league match according to wiki.

The largest margin of victory in the knockout stage in the current Champions League format is 7–0:
Bayern Munich beat Basel in the first knockout round in 2011–12
    Haha, the omens are good

Bayern Munich holds the biggest margin of overall home and away result in the Champions League era. They beat Sporting CP 12–1 (5–0, 7–1) in the round of 16 in 2008–09.
    COME ON YOU BOSH!

It'll be great if we don't concede a goal after 42 seconds. Let's hope we get the kick off.
  • Deleted user 1 April 2014 15:28:11
It'll probably be a disappointment simply because it's been built up so much. Bayern aren't going to go out and try and score a million goals. They'll just want to win, and will probably be cautious to an extent.

I was just going to say the same thing. Like how the big super sunday games are always low scoring shit.

Cunt Robben comes in from the right easily pass Evra/Buttner/Jones/Vidic, left foot shot, goal. Repeat.

Srsly, though I am expecting at least one penalty tonight. Its just made for it with Robben bombing in against that shower.

If he plays Young tonight then that's it we've had it. Wellbeck / Kagawa / Valencia behind Rooney up top would be quite a good front bunch. Mind you this is Moyes we're talking about.

Wasn't that also the aggregate score for Bayern against FUCKING BARCELONA last season?

I just don't see how we're going to keep the ball for more than 10 seconds at a time. This game is going to be the real eye opener. You'll have Bayern; free flowing, players switching around to offer support to the player on the ball and pressing constantly. Then in the other corner you'll have us; completely rigid, no one within 10 metres of each other when in posession and an unwavering dedication to playing it out wide to the workhorse wingers who will waste the few, if any opportunities we get in their half by hoofing it aimlessly towards the box. This will all be compounded by our defence and central midfield backing off and offering no pressure until they reach our 18 yard box in a desperate bid to 'make it hard for them'. Ugh.
