I did allow myself a little smile at the end of the game.

    Two more games to go...

Before I give Moyes some hope of surviving and making us great again.

West ham and Man City not Champions league games :p

    Come and get it cumslingers!

I would LOL if that was Liverpool.

United win it a joke? Chelsea won it, get Dortmond in the next round and they could easily be in the Semis.

And if Barca get Real or Bayern in the next round?! Its very possible
    Do you know ANYTHING?

The city game is going to be a cricket score if the defending in the last two games is anything to go by. Evra is a complete liability nowadays.

I don't think it's impossible for United to somehow win the CL, and I would frankly love to see it happen and keep Liverpool out the CL, just for the poetic irony.

There is no such thing as a forgone conclusion.

Just like people saying City were going to win the PL and FA Cup without kicking a ball. Certainly in the FA Cup, they kicked it. They lost.

As far as United wining the CL, it's quite probably very highly unlikely. Not impossible though.

Anyhow, I've got a feeling it's going to be Man U vs Chelsea in the next round.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

I saw someone elsewhere suggest that from next season the winners get in and the country keeps all their places....not had chance to check that though

That's probably what they would change the rules to in the event of Liverpool somehow losing their place, as per before, but as yet I don't believe such a change exists.

I cant quite decide whether it would be funnier for united to get humiliated in the next round or chelsea their way to victory and keep liverpool out.

The fact that they are both good options is nice, though.

By the way it's a relatively plausible scenario still that Liverpool get an automatic place anyway for next year.

In which case United might keep Arsenal out, which would be even funnier.

That is a good point. Everyone is assuming liverpool will finish 4th but theres a good chance that the perennial bridesmaids will fill that spot this year.

In fact, it's still not a total impossibility that it's Spurs that lose the place, so I probably shouldn't be such a schadenfreude about it at this point.

I hope Chelsea and Man Utd get Real and Bayern respectively, and get hammered.

Its not completely impossible for United to win the CL. Just very close to it.

Honestly, even Chelsea with their shit strikers would have scored about 5 last night. The liverpool game should have been more than 3 too. Moyes can talk about luck all he wants but they have been lucky this last week to not get a proper good hiding and be out of the CL.

Come the city game it will be business as usual. I predict at least a 4 goal margin to the blues.

People seem to forget WHY Olympiakos didn't score. Spanish Dave.

Yeah he was good, but you can't rely on him all of the time, especially when he is prone to the odd whoopsie-daisy self nutmeg. It was a clean sheet because Olympiakos are cack up front more than anything.

I remember the season that Chelsea won the CL. We were the team comfortably sitting in the top four (third in fact at this point), and Chelsea were hovering around 6th and 7th. They were bluffing their way through games and it was at that point a joke that they might win it.

It's almost identical to the parallel positions of Liverpool and United at the moment.

Yep, and it was similarly baffling how shit a collection of pretty good players were playing.

Still I don't think lightning will strike twice in that manner unfortunately.

It's a cup competition so anything can happen. Chelsea did very well that year to knock out Barca. I seriously doubt this united team could do the same.

So we're all in agreement then.

It's unlikely united will progress or win the cup.

    Very good.

If the players were all playing like they were last year, they might have a decent shout. As it is, no fucking chance.
