But the lack of gigaHD cameras and ultra super slo mo is to blame!

WHY CAN'T YOU ALL SEE THAT!?

Isn't it sort of irrelevant in the bigger picture anyway? You've been absolute wank in the CL and that's why you've been knocked out.
Well yes we have been wank and I'll be first to admit it but ultimately it's about scoring goals. If that goal had stood, then it's likely we'd have won the game and gotten 3pts instead of 1. So the bigger picture has changed because of a number of dubious decisions, and the offside wasn't the only one.

You'd still be bottom of your group and in al likelihood going out.

So you've changed your arguments from "the linesman couldn't have seen it" to "TV couldn't possibly record an offside, therefore I assume they never happen"?
lol people and their assumptions. I'm saying the linesman couldn't have seen it properly to give an accurate judgement and the TV evidence, giving that not even 'experts' can agree on whether it was offside, isn't good enough to conclusively decide one way or the other.

Oh my god, if a marginal decision had gone the other way you'd be slightly less absolutely definitely going out the CL. What a massive talking point.

Until someone shows me a 20billion megapixel, ultra-super HD shot of the group table, I'll refuse to believe City somehow scraped 2 points from it.

You're talking bigger picture, here's the bigger picture: the more points and a higher placing in the group stages goes towards a better co-efficient which hopefully means an ever so slightly (laughable) worse draw next year. A guaranteed 4pts is better than a guaranteed 2.

I know I shouldn't bite, but you get the usual smart arse know-it-all comments on here from people who frankly don't know shit and it winds one up so it does. All for your amusement of course :)

Is it the guy who suddenly became a regular poster on the forum around the point where City became the richest club in the world?

Whatever, people have every right to post however they like, but maybe cool it on the "I know more about football than you do" shit if you don't want that thrown in your face.

I don't remember saying I knew more about football than anyone else.

As for mikew1985 - I don't remember seeing you post anything before 2005 - oh wait shit that's completely irrelevant isn't it!

Especially hurtful as I obviously know way more about football than him.

Anyway, you can go back to whinging about how the most expensive team in the world needs a better co-efficient to help them in the CL so they don't have to play teams like Ajax and Dortmund who cost a fraction to put together by comparison.

I think people were just preparing their outpouring of sympathy before we got sidetracked.

There are only 3 questions needed to determine who knows the most about football.
Question 1) How far do you live from the team you supports ground?
Question 2) What was Darren Andertons nickname?
Question 3) What was the name of the dog that found the 1966 world cup under a hedge?

Because the distance you live from a ground has what impact on your football knowledge?

About the same as the number of posts in a forum thread it would appear :)

    1) irrelevant but closer than most of the rest of the PL clubs (still 192 miles from Dublin though)
    2) sicknote
    3) nobody outside of England cares all that much about anything that happened in 1966

    thats your lot :D

Again (again), you were the one that invited everyone to flop their knowledge of football onto the table and see whose was biggest. We were just discussing the City game until you got all petulant.

Its born from the ground. You are allowed to move after allegiances have been formed. It says so in the Proper Football Fans Handbook.

    He totally called it
