Can't complain about a draw away from home to stop the rot.

Obviously Wenger had noticed that the morale arrows on most of his squad were down so switched to men behind the ball, counterattack.

not sure why commentators were so sure it was peno at the end looked like both players were folding each other to me.
  • Deleted user 6 November 2012 21:42:47
Shame this will be about the non decisions rather than City's abject failure to punish Ajax tonight.

I know we don't like spending money, but can we please buy our players some studs. So they don't slip over. Every few seconds.

Although I have learnt something tonight. When Mertesacker slips over he looks like Bambi.

On the plus side, Mannone was good.

Ballotelli was beig pulled but it wasn't that that brought him down, he just fell.

Not saying it shouldn't have been a peno though.

But we did in the second half and decisions changed it.

Arab money doesn't buy you Fergie time.

Decisions didn't change anything. The two goals were offside and the fall isn't a pen.
  • Deleted user 6 November 2012 21:46:51
Yeah, more red wine needed you think?

Man City doing their very best to completely impersonate Chelsea behaving like twats when they don't get the decisions they want.
    Awesome.

If only he were available at some point, with a knockdown price, with interest to go to Arsenal, wouldn't mind his creativity.

    Hmmmmmm.
He would make a great played out of position left back!

The goal was offside, they just showed it there with a hawk eye style yolk. Kolarov's foot was ahead of the ball.

That's debatable, what's you opinion on the two penalty decisions?

The penalty at the end wasn't one IMO.
Balotelli was pushing the defender who was clearly pulling his shirt and asking for trouble, Balotelli just threw himself to the ground.

Everyone's debating the second half decisions and overlooking the fact that City definitely should have had a penalty in the first.

For me, the offside decision was borderline - he was offside by a tiny fraction, but the attacker usually gets the benefit of doubt in those situations, as they should.

The penalty... yes Balotelli threw himself to the floor, but do you blame him? The defender was absolutely all over him, having two hands grabbing his arm, and then grabbed a massive chunk of his shirt.
  • Deleted user 6 November 2012 22:06:35
The penalty was for the shirt pulling, not the fall.

Can forgive the first half penalty, looked like Toure stacked it but he didn't - hard to spot that one.

    Oh well, entertaining game regardless.

Yes but Balotelli just threw himself to the ground afterwards which means anything that happened before than is irrelevant

It's not really, his foot was ahead of the ball = offside. Replays showed it was, however marginal.

Only saw the one at the end which was a foul, Ballotelli did himself no favours with both the way he went down and waiting till after the defender had let go of the shirt too.

Ibra is a boss, 4 assists. Was fairly in the mood after his kung fu kick sending off at the weekend.

    His FOOT?

The linesman is the other side of the pitch, Dzeko had his back to him and the ball was between Dzeko and Kolorov. The linesman guessed, he couldn't have known!

That doesn't change the fact that it was offside.

So you think the incorrect decision should have been made?

I haven't seen a definitive shot that proves it was offside.

TV isn't good enough, not enough frames to be perfect, so if we want to be pedantic about things give me a 1000000fps tv camera shot of the 1 pico second after the ball leaves Dzeko's foot, render it in 3D, pixel perfect at super hi res and then show me the line on the pitch to show Kolarov was offside. Until then, much like the majority of other commentators out there, I'll believe it was onside and that the linesman didn't KNOW it was, he guessed.

Isn't it sort of irrelevant in the bigger picture anyway? You've been absolute wank in the CL and that's why you've been knocked out.

So you've changed your arguments from "the linesman couldn't have seen it" to "TV couldn't possibly record an offside, therefore I assume they never happen"?
