Registered 11 years agoPretty much is. Their three calls were pretty damn legit. You had one valid call and if you really want it, an iffy one for Valencia. But c'est la vie. As they say. The great teams win even when they don't play well/dominate and Utd do it time and time again.
I'd even question the penalty Nani took, but that's irrelevant since it a) it was given and b) he missed. -

Registered 6 years agoIn Lionel Messi's last 226 appearances for Barcelona, he's scored 221 goals and has made 83 assists on top of that. 304 goals in 226 games.
I was thinking the other day how we're almost getting desensitised to just how special his talent is. The standards he's setting will make future Ballon D'Or level players look normal in comparison. The comedown in standards will be strange to get used to. -

Registered 6 years agoFergie confirming post match that he wanted RVP to take the penalty but he neglected to physically nominate a pen taker pre match but he suspected the reason Nani took it was "he just ran and grabbed the ball first".
I'd say Nani got a right bollocking afterwards. -

When we attacked we looked good but apart from that keeping the ball and preventing Galatasaray play was shockingly shit.
If it wasn't for De Gea we could've easily drawn or lost that.
They should've had 2 penalties as well.
Also Nani can fuck off.
Apart from that Shinji was great again, Carrick was good as was Scholes when we had the ball. Those two just don't know how to win the ball back though. We need Fletcher to be back to his old self again and fatty not to be shit.
What's wrong with Anderson anyway? Is he injured or just dropped?

Registered 4 years agoI thought Kagawa was pretty average last night. Gave the ball away a fair few times and was anonymous in the 2nd half. A lot of that was due to us passing the ball out wide constantly though.

Quality game last night, the draw was a fair result imo and whilst it was disappointing to let go of a two goal lead I would have taken that at the start of the day. Its great to get drawn against a quality team like Juve in a group where we both should go through and now we have won the competition its much easier to just enjoy the spectacle.
Oscar was sensational, what a way to mark your first start. That second goal was right out of the top draw and just shows what a talent he is technically, shame it was up the other end of the pitch to where I sit. He also impressed me because he is a tenacious player who isn't afraid to get stuck in. He was picked over Mata in that central role because he could cause Pirlo more problems and he did a great job basically man marking him at points. It was a shame he went of injured.
Juve made us work very hard, we looked tired at the end and our defence and deeper midfielders are still liable to make mistakes, early days though.
