Keane and Scholes were on the pitch in their suits during the post-game celebrations in 99, they both got medals. I don't think it was ever suggested that Keane would come on and lift the trophy, and he wouldn't have done it anyway.

Registered 8 years agoI may be giving Terry too much respect, but I don't think he'd do it.

Registered 2 years agoTerry aside, because I think he's a case all in himself, and quite frankly has done himself no favours.
I wouldn't begrudge any team captain who helped his side all the way to a champions league final, the honour of lifting the cup. The suspension ruling shouldn't have anything to do with the politics of lifting a cup that required more than a single game to achieve.Steam: Baleoce

Registered 2 years agoOn the whole "Why do people hate Chelsea" issue, it's surely got to be down to the amount of (rightly so) negative press they get.
Ashley Cole shooting an intern with an Air Rifle, Ashley Cole's backroom meetings with Mourinho. Ashley Cole's affairs.
John Terry shagging his team mates wife, John Terry racialy abusing Anton Ferdinand, John Terry showing fans around for cash.
Add this with the constant hiring and then, often unjustly, firing of managers and Abramovich's media presence (i.e those accusations that he somehow swindled his business partner out of a load of money or something) mean that Chelsea get a hell of a lot of bad PR.
FWIW, without Terry and Cole I doubt I'd have anymore of a problem with Chelsea as I do with any other of Arsenal's rivals, but the strong, experienced English contingency means that their players are going to get worse press than say, Arsenal's "Young Stars" like Wilshere and Chamberlain. I'm almost certain that Wilshere will have a few incidents before his career is over that will disgrace Arsenal a bit. -

Will be interesting to see who takes the Barca job. According to the BBC, the bookies favourites are Bielsa, Wenger (!) and AVB (!!)senso-ji wrote:

Less convinced of that as I once was. Wengerball has moved on to a much more pragmatic approach. Spain is a decent shout, but sure I saw Del Bosque had signed a new contract.

Registered 4 years agoBut that being said part of me does hope Spurs get the 4th CL spot. I really enjoyed their approach to the competition a couple of years ago. They didn't compromise, played some nifty football and got themselves some decent results along the way. -

Spurs fans of my Facebook seem to be cheering for a Bayern win like their life depended on it.I like it when he's angry.
