My girlfriend has managed to spray hairspray into her ear and now she can't hear properly.

She did it yesterday and it ached at the time, mostly when she burped apparently, but now it doesn't hurt and it "isn't bubbly" anymore, but her hearing is slightly lessened and it feels like it's blocked and she keeps getting hysterical, thinking she's going to go deaf.

    What to do, retardo troupe?

    Balloon treatment

For this treatment a special balloon is blown up by the child using their nose. This is called autoinflation. It puts back pressure into the nose, and may help to open up the Eustachian tube and allow better drainage of the fluid. The child needs to do this regularly until the fluid clears. The research studies that looked into this treatment found that it seems to help in some cases, but not all. Also, this balloon treatment requires a lot of commitment to do regularly. It is also difficult for young children to do properly. Therefore, with well-motivated older children who can use the device, it may be worth a try. It is not thought to cause any side-effects or problems. You can get an autoinflation kit called OtoventŪ on prescription, or you can buy it from pharmacies.

Doctor. Not a medical one, The Doctor. If he can do Daleks, he can defeat deafness. Failing that, an MD.

I'd make a Drs appointment just to be on the safe side but the chances are that it will clear up before you go anyway. The heated olive oil is a good suggestion. It's common treatment for earwax so should also help clear some rogue hairspray. Odds are that the Dr would prescribe olive oil drops anyway.

Hairspray and burping? What is she, a Chavette?

Seriously though does swallowing help her? Offering her to swallow your own brand of medicine may not go down too well at the moment though so try water at this stage...

Gotta love these threads. Especially when they're created by someone who'd usually tell everyone else: "Go to the fucking doctor, retard." :D

Hehe, that is quite funny :)

When she burped? Maybe got to the middle of the ear and entered the Eustacian Tube, earitis? :) Just give it a couple of days, or else google says:

"take some pain killer and put hydrogen peroxide in your ear, let it sit for a couple minutes then take the excess out with a tissue. it should owrk. good luck if it doesnt then i would go to the doctors asap"

    Good luck!

Using another hair product to fix a hair product induced problem? That's hair-of-the-dog awesome!

TBF, I think Otex ear-drops are just peroxide too. I haven't tried bleaching my hair with otex yet though.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Don't you get shampoo that helps get hairspray/gel out of your hair. Try putting that in her ear.

    If she hasn't already.

Does she know you've made a thread on the internet to discuss her embarrasing moment with the rest of the world?

Why don't you tell her, and if she is displeased set her hair on fire :)

Or if her hearing is resurrected on the 3rd day, hail her as the true Jesusess and marry her.

Prodding the inside of her ear with sharp objects might do the trick.

    EDIT: I'm no doctor.
