There is but I didn't bother watching it, it doesn't do anything for a big set up IIRC,

Just saw it. Very good indeed. I take it that from the post-credits scene that Loki will be the villain in the Avengers? Rather fitting really, as he was the first villain they fought in the comics as well.

Loved it, easily in my Top 3 Marvel films so far. Who'd have thought Branagh had it in him? The action scenes were fantastic, the fish out of water comedy stuff worked well. (Although that Kat Dennings was shite, every word uttered was cringe worthy bollocks) and it had mother fucking Stringer Bell in it!
Even the after credits sequence had some substance this time around.
I'd give it 4.5/5, losing half a mark for that utterly unfunny bint.

I really enjoyed it too. The bit when Thor got his powers back and twatted the Destroyer nearly brought a tear to my eye; it's THOR! Friggin' THOR! A superhero film that actually makes the guy seem super.

Watched the Donner cut of Superman II this weekend as well, and it's that sort of feeling; the first time you see Supes flying, or Spidey swinging in Raimi's film. Excellent.

Plus, yeah, it's funny, exciting, etc.

When he grabbed his hammer towards the end (folk who've seen it will know what I'm on about) I almost shit myself with geeky joy.
    Which could've been shameful :/

I watched this yesterday afternoon and enjoyed it. I'd say it's on par with the first Iron Man and so very much a comic book film that doesn't take itself seriously.

    "OUTSTANDING! More!"

That was a quote from the film by the way, but it closely resembles my feelings towards it.

    I give it 4/5 stars

Portman, PHRRRRRRRRRROW is my review quote.

Went to see it over the weekend. Fell asleep, but managed to stay awake long enough to notice that Thor is the school kid from Home & Away.

On a side note, the fact that I feel asleep is no reflection on the movie. I was just exhausted after a bit of a boozy weekend. Not really my sort of movie though.

I enjoyed it. Though it was kind of two different films merged together.
Also nice to see a confirmed Avengers villain in Loki. I thought he'd show up on the skrull planet after falling into space; but him and the cosmic cube is good enough!

Went to see this yesterday. I'm not familiar with any of the detail of the comic backstory, so didn't have any pre-conceived ideas about what it should or shouldn't be like.

On the whole, thought it was pretty good - 7/10.

A lot of the early battle scenes were just too dark to make out what was going on, and there was an awful lot of jumping between Earth and Asgard, but I guess there was plenty of backstory to pile in. Thought Chris Hemsworth did a bang-on job, and Portman was good too. I assumed for a while that the three astrophysicists were just created for the film, but it sounds like at least she and the old guy (name?) are canon.

Missed a few of the 'insider' bits - did wonder why the sniper grabbed a bow from among all the rifles, but found out later that he was supposed to be Hawkeye, and apparently there was some mention of 'my friend who works in Gamma research'. Presumably a nod to Bruce Banner.

Given that every single Marvel film has a post-credits scene, I'm amazed that 90% of the audience got up and walked as soon as they started rolling though.

/orders Marvel encyclopedia to brush up on characters before Captain America comes out

I did that. Sitting through 7 minutes of credits to watch a 20 second clip that I can watch on the internet or on the disk when released seems pointless.

Having seen the clip since, I don't think I made a mistake.

He was a bit TOO super in that scene though i thought; I wanted the destroyer fight to go on a lot longer than it did!

Trailer is out tomorrow. Poster is rather epic.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Perfectly fits the "Cloudy background, flying debris, sparks and weapon in hand" cliche.

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

I liked the first one. Thought Kennypoo Brannypoo did a good job of making it grounded and at the same time absolutely preposterous.

The little bits I have seen of this look quite good and im pleased its looking like portman got the shove, so yay for that.

EDIT: Except that she has second billing on that poster. Y U NO ON PRE RELEASE INFO?
