This is the problem. Either you are serious and are stupid or you are joking and are massively unfunny.

Which is better? Theres only one way to find out...

Nokia were great at making pretty and very usable plain old phones, I wish they still did. There's always a need for phones that are just phones without all this bollocks on them.

    say no to Eurogamer sigs

Yeah. My mrs has a nokia something or other that is black and purple with flowers etched into the metal. The most complicated features are the camera and a brain training game.

    Its not even 3g.

I say its not complicated but its bluetooth functionality still makes the iPhone look like it was designed by cavemen.

Only ever had two mobile phones, both Nokia and both have been built so well that I've only decided to change them when they've broken.Had 6 years use out of the one and 4 years out of the current one.

Now looking at the phones on the market, they all look like style over substance jobs. Weak and flimsy with so many functions shoehorned into them that the battery life is a joke.

Yeah, there's a lot to be said for a phone that's just a phone. They tend to have decent battery life too. My iPhone battery dies if I take too long to read a text message.

Craigy's got a little wall by his desk, every time that the new link system claims another victim he sticks a little href symbol on to the wall ;)

    Who cares?

Seriously. I don't mean that in a dismissive rude way, I'm literally asking, who cares? Is there such a thing as a Nokia fan base? If they stop making phones altogether will a whole group of people simply no longer own phones?

    Don't see the issue really.

In my case, it is wide-eyed nostalgia. My first phone was a Nokia, can't even remember the model number. 1999 is when I got it. And I had great affection for the simple things that they did well. I'd like to be able to seriously consider Nokia phones when choosing between my next iPhone or the next Android.

    That is all.
    :)

The E55 (ace candybar smartphone) is tiny, cheap as chips and has a battery that lasts a MONTH. My E72 lasts a week and that's with push email turned on. I also don't have to faff around remembering to disable 3g or wifi

The N8 really does look juicy. I need to see Symbian 3 though to convince me to buy it.

Lucky my upgrade isn't due till Nov :)

    At the moment I'm contemplating:

    Iphone 3GS > Windows mobile 7 (HTC)
    Iphone 3GS > Iphone 4
    Iphone 3GS > N8

    Come and get it cumslingers!

I simply don't think any company stands a chance competing with Apple as long as people blindly buy into their products because they are called i-*something* and they are shiny and pretty.

I can see Apple releasing more and more "must have" products well into the future, the sort of products children and teens will harass their parents for until they cave in, and the sort of products adults can sit around feeling smug about.

There will simply always be a market for i-*something* products. Apple's marketing really is genius to the core.
