There is sound, it is just a very quiet bloke speaking occasionally over a quiet feed. Also. launch in about 30 mins I think, they are in a 'hold count' (whatever that is) at 9 minutes, which starts up again in around 20 mins, to hit a 1.56 take off time, to correctly rendevous the ISS on Wednesday. I think.

I'm fairly sure I heard the bloke say they were switching to Turtle Power five minutes ago.

    Cool.

    They are in a Hold.
once the hold is off in a few minutes the countdown from 9 to 0 will start.
About 20 minutes away, they said in the last voice com.

They have had some jet's flying around the surrounding airspace sending back weather report.
There was some cloud, but its either past or a non issue.

Interesting to hear about them preparing emergency landing sites in Spain & France.

it's the penultimate one - the last for Endeavour.

They're just about to restart the countdown (2 mins left in the T-9 mins hold)

    I'll be in Florida! Coincidentally....

I'll never tire of watching that, so sad that it's coming to an end. I feel like I've followed it my whole life, I remember it being rolled out for the first time (1976?).

10 minutes and you're in space.
Sounds impossible when you say it like that.
  • Deleted user 16 May 2011 14:10:50
    I love watching them.

It's a shame I'm never going to see one go up in person :(

I was in Florida to see the return of Endeavour from it's maiden journey in 1992!
Was on Daytona beach so didn't see much more than a speck in the sky though :(
