I took a chance on CoD World at War Zombies and was pleasantly surprised. Only Ł2.99 for all four maps, with no micro-transactions. I do tend to play Wolfenstien RPG a lot, Call of Mini: Zombies is a good blast, with tight joystick control.

Has anyone mentioned Baldur's Gate yet? :p

depends what you want to use it for, but i rarely need to use itunes for anything other than transferring videos over.

my music is downloaded from spotify and my apps directly onto the ipad.

Alright apple people. I've ordered myself a mini.

What are the essential games for this thing?
No one else has said it so I might as well!

Gave Baldur's Gate a quick go. The cutscenes are better than they were before - simple animation looks a lot better than the poor 3D that was there before, the controls work perfectly. Other than that it's the same game as before.

You don't need to ever connect it to a PC/mac. Just go through the store on the iPad.

In defense of iTunes, apart from being a resource hog it backs up your data perfectly, including all game saves and preferences. And no, I don't consider icloud an alternative.

Since using Downcast for podcasts, hardly ever have to use iTunes these days. Once a week to bung a load of video on there, a quick backup, ding dang do. Much better than when I had a morning routine of syncing every bloody morning to put podcasts on iPhone/iPad.

@Cosmopolitan Have to say that I did a full back-up and restore from iCloud the other day it was impressive that all save data for apps and most settings were restored.

Great, have no experience with Apple at all. Just want to grab GTA, Baldur's Gate, and a comic reader. Thanks.

Middle Managers of Justice is pretty darn good, the office has a real Theme Hospital feel to it.

It's free but if you want to support it the Coin Copier seems to be the best way without making the game too easy.

Fuck me! Just tried the 4od app.

Started a show... advert comes up. Fine I think, free tv etc. Then another advert... then another...and another...and another...and another...and another... and another.

8 fucking adverts before the show starts. Then 8 more in the middle of the show.

Straight into the bin. I can understand adverts, even several adverts. But 16 fucking adverts in one 22 minute episode of the inbetweeners? Fuck that.

its like watching it on tv, the tv episode takes 30mins and so does the app.

its annoying, but thats how they keep their budget up.

I'm not sure if it's a new one, but I've just started playing Order Up. Very addictive, although the interface gets clunky, especially when you're trying to do multiple things. Enjoyable, though.

The BBC iPlayer app is immense.

    That is all....

I've ordered a 64 GB iPad 4 for delivery next week and I've been checking the iTunes App Store on my PC to see what stuff there is available to download. Surprisingly almost everything I have on my Samsung Galaxy S3 Android phone is there except for oddly Firefox yet Google's Chrome is available (the browser I thought would definitely not be available). Why isn't Firefox available for the iPad? Also I couldn't find uTorrent either.

PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Xbox One, PC (Intel Core i7-4770K, 16 GB, 3 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780, Windows 8.1 Pro), iPad 4, iPad mini with Retina Display.

Splashtop Remote is all you need for those PC apps.

Give yourself Ł5 or ˝ gig, you're worth it.
