    Horn is on sale.

Got great reviews - can anyone substantiate them?

One thing that has put me off is its by zynga though. Which is wierd because I normally don't give. Toss who makes the game as long s it's good. ...

Everybody should just calm down a little bit and have a nice cup of tea.

I can just about mind playing 'Words With Friends' because it is great fun and a nice 'free' communication tool by using the chat side panel however, after all the stories about Zynga, I daren't buy anything from them now ...

... they even made 'Draw Something' worse than when OMGPOP were developing it, which is a crying shame really.

Completed Rayman Run over the weekend and when I say completed I actually mean lost my rag multiple times at the pure OCD behaviour of collecting all of the death teeth!!

It's a side scrolling runner game where Rayman is always running and your taps on the screen make him jump, fly, punch etc. the controls are flawless IMO. Not once did I feel that they impeded upon the gameplay. Fantastic.

The game leads you into additional abilities and in turn makes the later levels quite difficult, the finales of each section can be particularly difficult but fantastic once you nail it.

The graphics are sublime on the new iPad, I mean really good but this is helped by how gorgeous the artwork is, on par with origins easily. No comment for sound really, it's serviceable.

Has that addictive one more go feel to it that makes all the good iPad games. Nailing a perfect run really does give that fist pump feeling and having completed everything the game has to offer in some combined 4 hours of gameplay I consider my £1.99 to be exceptionally well spent.

    Comes highly recommended this one.

    9/10

Yep, I'm playing it and love it. It's universal and possibly even better on he phone.

I've turned off all the avatars and crap, so don't expect me to be impressed by yours.

Price Drop ($6.99 -> $1.99) for the “Real Racing 2 HD” App.

I'm enjoying The Room - a sort of furniture puzzler - crack your way into a mystical cupboard. Was App of the Day recently.

Can anyone recommend a decent spreadsheet app - nothing too complicated, ideally able to import to/from excel?

Just picked up Heroes Call for free, noticed it was mentioned in the Android thread. It's an okay Diablo-lite affair, simple interface, atmospheric music etc..

Give yourself £5 or ½ gig, you're worth it.

Any suggestions for decent sim/tycoon/management games that are not horribly borked by being 'freemium'? I've done Sim City to death and enjoyed Virtual City, but everything else I've found that looks remotely promising needs a load of money thrown at it.

Currently enjoying The Room £1.49 at the moment. Think the puzzle box from Hellraiser with gorgeous graphics and cogs and keys and sliding panels etc..Very inventive stuff, I like it. Only a few chapters in, nothing too taxing but you have to inspect every nook and cranny.

    9/10 so far

You can just pop onto the App Store and look upon the section that says, 'New to the iPad? Start here.'

I highly recommend Angry Birds Star Wars, Cut the Rope, Flight Control, Plants vs. Zombies, Ski Safari (this is my favourite!), Tiny Wings, Where's My Water? as well as the recent Rayman Jungle Run and The Room.

Oh, and the best iOS game ever is Letterpress ... it is so simple yet devilishly brilliant!

Letter by Letter is better than Letterpress and you don't have the constant feeling the other person is cheating.

Not necessarily, but with more screen estate, it is both easier and far more enjoyable!

It is the kind of game you can play for a couple of minutes or a lengthy period of time ...

    ... : )

Cool, the only reason I ask is that I owned it on my iphone so I hope I will be able to play the same version on my ipad m.

Too many games to advise on any specific ones, but generic advice from me is to buy one game at a time and play that until you are bored then play the next one

too many times i've bought 5 or 6 games at a time and played none of them!

Baldurs Gate obviously, Broken Sword, FIFA, Dead Trigger, Wesnoth, Magic 2013, Walking Dead, Great Big War Game, Galaxy on Fire 2 HD, Zombiewood, Mass Effect Infiltrator are the ones i have on mine at the moment.

Do these games actually work with touch controls or are they fudged ports?

When I had an iphone back in 09/10 they were a bit pants.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

Dead Trigger, GOF, Mass Effect, FIFA all use what i would term crappy fake joysticks.

the others are all fine to control, apart from Baldurs Gate i havent played yet.

having said that, broken sword, walking dead, baldurs gate, wesnoth, magic are all ports.
