heh...just found the 'storyline' for the next game

Happy that no more demands are being made to him after his successful adventure to return sharing to LittleBigPlanet, it's all going swimmingly for Sackboy... That is, until a some kind of inter-dimensional, hyper-spatial, 1800 watt Vacuum Cleaner appears in the skies, causing quite the ruckus and sucking Sackboy up into its musty bowels. All jolly sinister and most inconvenient.

Happily, a jolly nice fellow named Larry Da Vinci intervenes and rescues him from what has come to be known as The Sucker. Da Vinci, it turns out, is in charge of "The Alliance", a semi-secret, semi-organised group devoted to fighting The Sucker before it destroys the whole Cosmos.

Hmm from the trailer it seems games will still be limited by floatiness.

The preview mentioned due to all the old DLC levels they couldn't change the floatyness of SB, but players can change this in thier custon levels.

Can't see why they couldn't do it themselves and just have the LBP1 levels still floaty.

    I like the floaty.

People who moan that they'd like Sackboy to be something other than he is, ie 'floaty', usually couldn't understand the level creator either, or bother to play user created levels, with 4 friends or other Sacks in their pod, and then gave up very early on. But they still like to mention to those that adore the game that their game doesn't work as it should.
you're right, I couldn't possibly love the game, understand all that technical gubbins but still wish the jumping could be tightened up a bit

It's not just the jumping that's floaty. The paddle movement in the breakout clone is "floaty" as well. And so are the cars in the Super Cars clone.

I don't want to make anything, I don't want to play with anyone else, and I'm not interested in playing what anyone else has made.

Gimme a great platformer with about 15 hours of solid gameplay and story and I'll buy it.

All the "create, share" stuff is meh.

I know what you're getting at CG, I just remember certain levels having to time my jump a good half a second (or what seemed like) before actually needing to jump...bah, I spose i'll get used to it all over again! :p

that trailer is a thing of beauty, anyone know where the music is from?
Someone posted it up in the comments section of the video.

Cool thanks, starred it up on Spotify.

I'm unbelievably excited about that trailer. I loved the first one though I was someone who never devoted time to level creation, it's just such a joyful fun happy game, really had hours of fun (and sometimes frustration) with it.

I love creating. Sitting, carefully constructing a huge machine, attaching that button, going into play mode, pressing it, and watch it rape itself to bits as you tearfully return to create mode.

The more complicated they make it, the more scope there is for things to go horribly (yet hilariously) wrong. I still do hope they have plenty of levels and things built in though.

Kirby is the man! Even if he wasn't, he'd just ingest and become one.

There are a thousand other platformers out there; perhaps this game is just not for you?

You might struggle to get 15 hours out of a platformer.
  • Deleted user 10 May 2010 16:55:00
You'd get more than 15 hours out of this.

    I reckon it'll be supoiiiibbbbbb.

Yeah, I'd wager that I definitely have at least 15 hours played on every Mario I've ever played.

I'm pretty interested in this which is a surprise because I was a harsh critic of the original release.

They're fixing nearly everything that annoyed me and putting in loads of great new stuff too.

I haven't even had time to properly watch the trailer because of the news fallout. :(
