Have to say that I play in 2d as the sweet spot is too small. I don't mind. Prefer image stability than double images for tilting the 3ds 0.01 of a degree to the side :)

Just ordered Mario & Luigi Dream Team from Flubit for only 23.24. Used the Grainger Game price of 26.99 as the price for them to beat, if you want to give it a go yourself!

Mario and Luigi games are fantastic, that looks to continue the tradition. Had no idea it was out so soon.

Only played the first M&L game on the GBA, and it was great. Bowser's Inside Story was highly-rated but I never got round to playing it.

The new one looks mental, but I wish it wasn't out so soon. I really don't want to be buying any games now for a few months.

This looks amazing, I really need to start clearing my 3ds backlog though.

Out in 2 weeks? Gah, I know full well I'll be buying this even though I won't get round to playing it properly. I've just started Animal Crossing, not quite finished Donkey Kong, barely scratched the surface on Fire Emblem, nor Luigi's Mansion or Ocarina. It helps that the sheer variety as well as quality means there's something for every mood.

I was never a handheld lover but this console has won me over and then some.

Oh my! The Godzilla-type battles are back from Bowser's Inside Story! YES! 3DS is the king of the gaming world! Long live the king!

Better not have that "blow into your mic" shit from Bowser's Inside Story. Remember loading it up for the commute and had that within a minute, meant the remaining 54 minutes of the train journey I couldn't play it.

    Talking of blowing.

I'm such a idiot, I was having trouble blowing out the torches in Phantom Hourglass, I even had to Google where the mic is on the 3DS. Still couldn't blow out the torches. I ended up digging up my old DS out and doing it on that.

A couple of days later I realised that the headphones I was using had a Mic on it. So I was blowing in the wrong place. I didn't know that it did and I didn't know you could use a headset with the 3DS.

Moral of the story is, Phantom Hourglass is great and you should play it.

Phantom hourglass is okay, it's got a decent overworld, okay dungeons and you have the great fun of the timed dungeon, and you have the great fun of the timed dungeon, and you have the boredom of the timed dungeon, and you have the annoyance of the timed dungeon, and then you have the fucking OH MY GOD WHAT FUCKING RETARD DESIGNED THIS GAME of the timed dungeon.

Then you throw the game in the bin.

Yep the timed Dungeon is awful. Classic modern Nintendo padding at its worst.

Something that wasn't extremely tedious to play? ;)

All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.

I want exploring and puzzle solving from my Zelda games. It's exactly what it's given me.

I also find it very relaxing.

I on the other hand "missed" it according to Nintendos archaic account and license managing methods.

Their "support" was truly excellent in coming up with a very modern Nintendo approach:

"Forgiveness please; Our system cannot retroactively link a game to your 3DS because it just can't"

Actually it would have been excellent if they'd even made the effort of asking forgiveness. Soured the entire thing for me.

No, I had the mad notion that games bought through the eshop would automatically count toward my total of game purchases automatically.

crazy I know, I mean madness to think such a thing.

So what, did you buy 3 games on the eShop that didn't count towards the promotion? Was the club account and 3DS linked? Or did digital downloads simply not count towards the promotion?

Digital downloads must have counted because I bought Fire Emblem that way and it was automatically registered on the Nintendo club account and counted as part of the promotion. I bought my code through Game though - not sure if that makes a difference somehow.

The whole promotion was done through Club Nintendo, so that seems like the obvious thing to have linked to your eShop account before buying any games.

Yea to someone that knows. I thought Nintendo would have had this shit sorted by now.

@mikew1985 That absolutely sucks, but surely you read the T&C? It should have explained it all in there. Otherwise you might have a good arguement to put forward to Nintendo!

I didn't bother reading any T&C's after I realised "my" mistake. I got straight on to Nintendo assuming they would immediately link the thing and be done with it, considering I did, you know, buy the game from their online store.

I mean when it happened I really thought it would be done, dusted an corrected within a normal support turnaround of 24 hours with an added, thank you for your custom sir and sorry for the inconvenience.

    Nope. Cannot be done.

Not only was that the eventual feedback but it took them an entire week to finally confirm that this was the case to me.

I mean some in here can point to T&C's or say I should have known about this or that but that strikes me as complete apologist tripe tbh.

Yes it is technically my mistake (because Nintendo's systems are completely backward and terrible and I made a silly assumption that they may have fixed that in the last 7 years since they first discovered this thing called "the internet"). I still think it is and was reasonable to expect Nintendo to correct it for an, incredibly, loyal customer.

I've bought 100's of games for Nintendo platforms over the years; sure I've been put off by and complained about their home consoles but I really love the 3DS, I think it's an excellent handheld but this little thing has really stuck in my craw.

I'd have bought somewhere between 2 or 3 extra games in the last month or two if this hadn't happened or if they had simply rectified it.

I'm genuinely trying my damnedest not to give them any money right now, despite the fact that I want DKC, MK7 and have an interest in AC.

Mario and Luigi will be the real test though.

I always played in 2D when I had a standard 3DS but since getting an XL, the 3D is hardly ever off, there's a better sweet spot, and the 3D looks so much better.
