It is an amazing console. The amount of quality on offer too is ridiculous. I'm nosing around the eShop at the minute and i've still got games i've yet to touch. No idea when i'll get around to playing Fire Emblem and i'm eyeing up Project X Zone now!

This console has almost single handedly killed off my interest in the Xbox now. I'm thinking portable gaming is the future for me.
I'm pretty much the same, am still slogging through Fire Emblem and Monster Hunter after stopping for Megaman 5 and 6 on the VC. I also have Donkey Kong, the Zelda Oracles and Luigi's Mansion yet to start, with Project x-zone arriving in a couple of weeks.

My PS3 hasn't had any love since Dragonborn was finally released for Skyrim. I might be tempted by The Last of Us when it's a bit cheaper, but other than that it's probably going to be just a 3DS for the rest of the year for me. Etrian Odyssey IV, SMTIV, Soul Hackers and Link between Worlds, that's about an extra 180 hours of gaming for me right there. Best year ever for a handheld for me, and I've been using them since 1989.

Fairly mixed reviews for Project X Zone but I've ordered it anyway (22). Looks good fun in a crazy, over the top kind of way.

The XL console is a thing of beauty. My ladyfriend treated herself to the XL with Animal Crossing bundle. My Launch 3DS now seems inadequate.

Let's hope they make a sexy Limited Edition for Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

Project X Zone has arrived! :p The soundtrack CD has 25 tracks, which was more than I was expecting, and the artbook is simple but nice, with a picture of each character. Rubbishy ipod photo of artbook below, if anyone's interested in how it looks inside. ;)

I bought my girlfriend one, with Animal Crossing, for her birthday. Now i'm left with the tiny finger nail marks on my slider, whilst hers is all pristine! She has managed to scratch her touch screen already though.

Funny you should say that as I was just playing it this very minute and berating myself for not getting back into it sooner. I personally find it to be an exuberant expression of all that is good about Mario games. But, fair enough...if you don't like it, you don't like it. That happens sometimes...you just don't get on with a game for whatever reason. I could say the same about MK7...good game but it just doesn't do much for me. Which is strange as I'm a Mario Kart fan. Maybe I need to give it another chance.
Donkey kong on the other hand I did like, and louigis mansion is truly excellent.

She's not going to make the cut. Bin her now.

My XL has a few deep scratches on the touch screen, and the 3D screen has very faint lines where the screen meets the lip of the bottom screen when closed - similar to the problem that plagued the original 3DS, but to a much lesser extent (I only noticed yesterday when the sun was shining directly onto it).

@RyanDS a good number of your posts lean towards a very anti Nintendo vibe. It therefore doesn't surprise me when you find one of their better mario outings as safe and boring. It seemed to me that no matter what they did with a main mario it would be safe and boring.

That being said everyone is allowed their own opinion and it was wrong of me to disrespect that so I apologise

    @kentmonkey

I tend to think surprised as more rose then pink I will consult with delux as they know the colour of everything apparently

I have project x zone pre ordered, I can understand why it can be a marmite type of game. Also I really don't think the demo was a great idea as I could see quite a few people being put off by the randomness of it all

Does anyone know if the 3ds xl is suitable for a 4-year old boy? (not me, for my boy). I can't get him off my phone and would rather he played with a handheld. Thanks in advance

@vijay_UK I'd say the XL might a be a tad big for 4-year-old boy hands.

I am not anti nintendo, I am anti nintendo being shit. Hence the 3ds and wii u being fucking awful and me talking about that. They redeemed themselves a fair bit in my eyes with the 3ds xl though, and by actually leasing some games on it this year.

Honestly, Mario 3D Land is about as un-safe as it gets for a Mario platformer on a handheld. NSMB2 on the other hand, now there's a safe Mario game.

Any noticeable difference when using different class SD cards on the 3DS? I was just wondering if a Class 4 will be fine or if I should splash out on a Class 10.

I've got a class 4 16GB card on mine (bought last week) and it's been fine so far. I think Class 10 cards are only really necessary for high-end photography and HD video editing and stuff.

I can't keep up with all the quality games on 3DS since I got one, it's getting silly. Now Mario & Luigi Dream Team has apparently scored 92% (albeit in ONM) linky

Thats out in like two weeks? I still dont fully understand what it is meant to be!

Never played any of the Mario & Luigi rpg's? They're very good (and funny), and looks like this one keeps the quality up. Yep, out in a couple of weeks.
  • Deleted user 28 June 2013 21:22:25
No i havn't :( When i had the original ds i did look out for the mario and luigi game but it was really hard to get hold off and never did in the end

Looks great, really looking forward to it.

The DS one you mention must be Bowser's Inside Story. Still a great game, and can be had for under 15 on ebay.
